First, dont even read phyllis answer. any one can quote bible text, but with out taking it into context its meaningless.
the bible is clear "THOU SHALL NOT KILL" so theres the first rule on life..
The second is this
then thou shalt give life for life. -- Exodus 21:23
This verse and those before and after it are dealing with a women being abused who loses her child.
thirdly you can point out that
JEREMIAH 1:5: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
LUKE 1:44: "For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy."
MARK 9:42: "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea."
PSALM 127:3: "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward."
It is not mans Job to take the life of a child. as we have seen
Not only does life start with GOD it ends with it. psalms shows us they are a reward, and Mark shows us that its better to be tossed in the sea then harm a child.
The “miracle of life” certainly is a miracle. A human being is formed from 2 single cells fusing together in a female. The cells divide and differentiate forming tissues and organs. After only 18 days of growth, a heartbeat can be detected. After 21 days, the eyes, spine and digestive system become visible. After 40 days, brain waves can be detected. At 8 weeks, the toes and fingers are formed. At just 18 weeks, the baby can move on it’s own. Abortions are performed even after all of these things have occurred.
Im sorry for your friend to have to go through this. But while you pray for her and her baby, point out those verse's and show that husband that GOD Loves children, and has given them life.
One final point. Her job is to submit to God before any one else. The bible says she is to submit to her husband as he submits to GOD. and if he is asking her to kill a baby that GOD has formed he is acting outside of GOD.
If she is truly a child of the LORD our GOD then she, on this issue, needs to tell her husband to take a backseat because Jesus Christ Comes before him.
have him go to http://www.echothefaith.com/hardtruth2.html and watch the film there about abortion... that makes it all to clear what happends and how it happends.

I believe that Children are gifts of the Lord and In my present understanding of the bible, I think that people should have as many as God provides.
Well I did a study on this topic. I was looking at the dictionary definition of the word "Conception" and it's a derivative of the latin word "concipere" from which the word
"Concept" also is derived.
Two definitions of conception that I liked are:
"The sum of a person's ideas and beliefs concerning something"
"the process of becoming pregnant involving fertilization or implantation or both"
So an embryo is a sum of a person,:)
The word "conceive" & "conceived" appear atleast 49 times in relation to child birth.
Sarah conceived and gave birth to a son,
Eve conceived and gave birth of a son...
In Genesis 16: 4,11..Hagar conceives and immediately when she is in the desert, the Angel of the Lord appears to her and tells her "Behold you are with Child and God will provide for her and all.."
So I am convinced that in God's sight, life begins at conception, when fertilization occurs, and an embryo is a human being, a child.
A few other scriptures that I thought to be noteworthy are
Hosea 9:11, Job 3:3, Gen.21:2, Psalm 127:3
God can open and close wombs, He opened Rachel's womb, gave Samuel to Hannah, Samson's mother was barren too and he opened her womb.

God condemns abortions.
“You [Jehovah] kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. . . . Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing.” -- Psalms 139:13-16
“In case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul.” -- Exodus 21:22, 23
Some translations make it appear that in this law to Israel the crucial matter was what happened to the mother, not to the fetus. The original Hebrew text, however, refers to a fatal accident to either mother or child.
“Anyone shedding man’s blood, by man will his own blood be shed, for in God’s image he made man.” -- Genesis 9:6
“No manslayer has everlasting life remaining in him.” -- 1 John 3:15
“You must not murder.” -- Exodus 20:13

nothing directly. The only possible reference is
Thou shall not kill,
but since many Christians add so many exceptions to this rule (war, capital punishment, alleged self-defense, wrong pair of shoes, doesn't speak the language, wasn't born here, is too poor anyway, etc...) I guess that whole commandment is kind of a mute point anyway....
In my opinion, the real sin about abortion is not what the woman does, but what we, as a society do to her. The absence of compassion and the rapid jump to judgment and condemnation. I think that's the real sin.

The bible says thou shall not kill. Its a ten commandment. Abortion isn't mentioned in the bible. If you have read the bible , you would understand that its a disgusting practice that God would hate.

thou shall not murder. only reason murder is allowed is to defend ones home or family. so abortion is wrong and is against one of the 10 commandments.
to adopt out the child after birth is fine, for Moses was this way. and he became a well known man.

The bible says that if you should cause a woman to abort, that you must compensate her. That's it. That's the only place that the bible mentions abortion. Not exactly the major sin that people seem to portray it as if it's only subject to a monetary fine.

i am not sure what bible verse says these, i have only heard it from others, but it talks about how God has a plan for your life, a reason to live, even though you are not born..even when you are no bigger than a pea, you are a living thing..abortion is killing, and killing a living thing is murder
"thou shalt not kill"- a sin..all he should know.. :)

here is some
The word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:4-5).
Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).
Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers? (Job 31:15).
Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast. From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God (Psalm 22:9-10).
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my (unformed body.) All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:13-16).
