I have plenty of whole kernal corn on hand but a recipe calls for creamstyle corn. Can I run it through a food processor or something and make creamstyle corn?

Creamed Corn Recipe

12 ears fresh corn, shucked
8 tablespoons butter
Salt and pepper

Remove corn from cob using a corn grater or knife, and mash the whole kernels a little. Place corn in a glass dish and add the butter on top. Cook in the microwave on high for 7 to 10 minutes, stopping to turn and stir a couple of times. Be careful not to over cook the corn. If corn seems too dry, add a little milk or water. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve as a side dish with favorite meal.

Yes, you can. You need corn on the cob, though. First you cut the kernels from the cob, the liquid is called the cream. You then add some real cream as you cook. A few crushed crackers keep it from being too runny. Cook until hot, but now boiling.

I have never heard of making cream style corn from canned whole kernel corn. A food processor will break down the hulls though and make it easier for some people to eat.

You can make your own cream style corn, but I'm thinking that you might just want to run to the grocery store to get a can because its actually faster than making your own!

Creamed Corn:

6 ears of corn, cut off of the cob
1 cup half and half
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp pepper

Simmer corn in half and half until tender, add salt, sugar and pepper. Continue cooking until creamy and texture is like a pudding.

All you have to do is take your canned corn, put into a saucepan, heat it through. Take flour and milk shaken together until smooth. It usually takes about 2 tablespoons of flour to 1 cup of milk.

Slowly add your flour and milk mixture to your canned corn and heat (almost boiling) until you get your desired thickness.
