in june im going on vacation to los angeles california im going to fly their what are the best ways to take my mind off of being in the plane because im so scared because last year i flew for the first time ever and i had a really bad first time experience we had to make a emergency landing due to engine falure so what can i do to take my mind of that when im flying

If you have a MP3 player, that helps. Also portable DVD players (make sure you have headphones). Bring a book or magazine. Also as a backup, you can go to your family doc and ask him or her to prescribe you some muscle relaxers, or just go to the drug store and get you some. It'll knock you out during the flight. Just make sure you eat about an hour before your departing, but take the relaxer about 20 minutes before you board. That'll give it enough time to work into your system. Best of luck to ya!

1st of all, there is nothing to be afraid of. I fly EVERY WEEK and can assure you it is totally safe.

Taking a little Valium or something before take off wouldn't hurt. Then, read, or listen to music. If you have a laptop, bring some shows or movies.

Take your ipod and listen to music, take a potable dvd player and watch movies, read a book.

go to a nutritional store and buy "Nerve" or "Calm Ease". My husband and i hate to fly as well, we fly out to Vegas a week ago and took it and it worked great.

take a nap on the plane or take a crossword book, or laptop, or anything that will get your mind off flying.

theres nothing cus youll wake up no matter what. i would just listen to music very loudly. also have a psp or somethign to keep you even more busy. and when you see something happening just keep positive and try to remember that your inside a room with people who just want to get out also.

Just get on the plane and go, any thing can happen to you any where, in a car,in your house,on a cruise,walking, any where. so just relax and enjoy
