The program is very intense and I would strongly advise you to purchase the literature at least to avoid injury, overtraining and other issues that may arise if you have not been properly educated on the P90X protocol. You may choose to go on their website for more information as well.

The frequency really does depend on your level of fitness and recovery. I can do a video every day because there are enough variations for me to avoid overtraining, but this is purely subjective. Rule of thumb is to let a least one day of rest for smaller muscle groups (shoulders/arms) and two days of rest for larger muscle groups (legs/chest/back).

You can maxmize your progress by filling the rest days with kenpo, core synergistics, yoga, x-stretch and plyometrics (although plyometrics is no filler and you really need to be on top of your game for that one).

It really is a very intense program for even those who are fit. Take it slow, take it easy and ramp up your intensity because if you try and do what they do at the same intensity and frequency from the get go, you're asking for a world of hurt.

If you subscribe to the program, and commit to the protocol, you will see results in less than 30 days...big results in 60 days and results that will blow you away in 90 days.

And although you already have a duplicated copy of the videos, I will tell you honestly, it's certainly worth the money for the literature that accompanies the program.

Good luck

Hey there! P90x is HARD! I've known some military personal that have said P90x was a challenge. P90x+ is for when you graduate P90x. WHen you graduate, you'll eventually platuea. + is there to add variety to the original P90X workout, so you don't plateau. I think that you should get P90x somehow. If you can't then go ahead and work on +. I'm gonna warn you. It will be hard. Since you've never done the P90x, then don't be afraid to take multiple breaks. Also, there's a P90 you can buy. It's for normal people pretty much. x was created for more athletic people. + was created for insine people. xD Goodluck!

The program really is fantastic. I lost 19 pounds in my first month and I am now nearly down to my weight from 10 years ago. Check out this link and down at the bottom of the screen click on the "Play the Game" tab. It's free, no payment info at all, and best of all you could win up to $1,000 just for logging your workouts.
