Good friends are real life people, with whom I look forward to spending time with...most have similar interests. My favorite friends are the ones who love life and with whom, I laugh endlessly at stupid stuff....

I would consider some co-workers casual friends.

Some other acquaintances that in my running race group...are casual friends...

And some of the people I have met online are surface friends...I don't believe you can really get to know someone very well via the internet.

I will answer truthfully. I have very, very few friends. And I have many. I knew from an early age, my life was not going to be easy. There was going to be much pain. I resolved to purposely not make many friends. I do not want other people to have to deal with my pains. I never married for the same reason. I would not want any woman to be forced to deal with me on a regular basis. I was just smart enough to see and spare other people pain.

I do have many friends in faith though. People who would do almost anything if I were to ask. I try not to ask. I do not want to bother people out from there own busy lives.

I look at the 50% divorce rate and wonder why they could not have made the same reasonings I did. They could have spared 1,000s of people pain.

I'm not quite understanding the question: Do you want names? Names and addresses? Phone numbers to go with it? Since I doubt my friends would appreciate such personal information being broadcast on a world-wide forum, I'll simply answer that I have several groups and degrees of friendships.

I have the people closest to me who have weathered many a hard time with me, and have given as much as they take. Although the number is few, these are my "best" friends, and I consider them closer to family than anything else. Since this question is posted in "Religion and Spirituality," I'm assuming that you'd like to know about the religions (or viewpoints) practiced by the company I keep... One of my best friends isn't strict about any viewpoints, but leans in the direction of Christianity. His wife I couldn't say, since religion is a topic she rarely discusses. Another friend of mine is Agnostic, and I have another still that is Atheist.

There's a group of people that I know and socialize with at work--but rarely on days off. While there's no certainty how any member of this party would respond in trying times, it shoud be noted that if you work amoung certain people long enough, you get to know them quite well. However, due to the nature of a working environment, religion is very rarely discussed... perhaps I'll catch a "Thank God for that!" or even, "I'll pray for you," if there's a major health issue that pops up, but for the most part, individual to individual, I really don't know. Those who mention God seem to have Christian views--but who knows what branch off of that tree they swing! Deep discussions about religion are, themselves, a forbidden fruit in an office setting--keeps people from becoming offended or judgemental of one another.

There's people that I talk to in many places I tend to go--I bump into them from time to time, know who they are, and enjoy their company. Again, faith's a hazey issue that only finds clairity when one of them mentions God... or in one instance, Allah.

I myself am Atheist, but socially I'm surrounded by various faiths.

They are very small in number.

I can count on one hand the number of true friends that I have, and I am very blessed to have each and every one of them.
