A movie followed by a "bite to eat" at a non-expensive place is a good start. Do not go to some grisly American movie with brains and intestines flying about. Go to something that has a good rating and is fun.
The movie gets you comfortable with being next to each other and gives you a start for the conversation to follow.
Be a good listener. Ask open ended questions of your date, then listen to their answers. Be interested.

be as funny as you possibly can. Nothing breaks the ice and fears better than making her laugh. Just don't go overboard. If she doesn't laugh genuinely, try a different approach.

If so, you've got it easy. As long as you don't come across as a b****, you can do whatever you like. Any pressure you feel you can defer to him by remaining calm and confident.
