So I've never used it and just recently heard about it? How does it work and what does it cost?

BearShare is a peer-to-peer file sharing application originally created by Free Peers.. There are free usable versions..
BearShare Lite(old version) You can download any file form this version(Movies,Audio,Applications, Documents)
BearShare 6(new version) is only for mp3 downloads
Install it and just complete the wizard.. then you can search the things you want and download..

a better one is http://www.shareaza.com Its free (don't let anyone charge you for it) and it doesnt have spyware or adware in it.
it connects to 4 different networks (including bearshares network) so you have a better and quicker chance of getting the file your looking for.
be sure when you download files in it to pick ones that have the MOST SOURCES = quicker downloads
also be sure that music files are mp3 format only
movies are mpg or avi only
mp3 are never smaller than about 3 mb and 2 hour long movies are at least 400mb
keep all that in mind and you will keep your computer free from viri and spyware and adware (bearshare does run the same risk of infection)
just be aware of what your downloading. I've had it for 6 months and am very happy with its performance.
when you get it go to Tools, Shareaza Settings, and General look for a box that says "display simple progress bar", Check IT. otherwise it will use up alot of computing power for no good reason

it works like a shareazza, kazaa, limewire and the likes..They are called p2p programs or peer to peer programs...it's a program for sharing files such as mp3s with those connected to the network (Gnutella, etc)...Bearshare, IMO is a little slower compared to Shareazza and Limewire..It costs nothing...Its for free, try visiting Bearshare.com

its another peer to peer sharing program like limewire. It costs nothing to use, but it requires you to break the law and risk getting caught downloading music, movies and software illegally.

they have a free version that you can try && then you can upgrade if you decide to.. but it basically works the same as limewire && those other music downloader things..

its free but new vesion is crap.
google bearsharelite ..much better results are retrieved.
u basically type the name of song/movie/game/pis...whatever push search...wait till it searches clik files u want to download then wait till they done
