and Why do Christians harp so much about gays? it's not even on the top 10 list. or one of the 7 deadly sins. Why don't people go to the Hometown Buffet and confront gluttons?

Usually, the questions are just asked out of spite. It's a topic that raises a lot of controversy, and you're right, many christians do harp on it in a rather unbalanced way.
The bible does say that homosexuality is detestable to God, and that it's sin. However, there are a great many other sins in the bible that seem to be less handled than this topic and, sadly, more "acceptable" or "forgivable." If you look at it, homosexuals would be the preverbial modern day lepers. Many christians look at them, shout "UNCLEAN" and run the other way condemning them. It's really rather unfair, when you think about it.
I've spoken with people who have overcome homosexuality to pursue God and have gotten much ridicule from not only the church, but the homosexual communities they were once a part of. It's a group that needs the most help, and yet seem to receive so little because it is a hard topic to understand. It's not as simple to figure out as why someone would steal. There are so many things that can cause it, making it pretty difficult to understand and pinpoint the root.
Couple that with the fact that sex is pretty much shoved in our faces here in America, yet seems to be such a taboo topic when someone tries to "seriously" address it, and you get a church that would rather run from it than sacrifice their comfort and actually help someone deal with it. I mean, heaven forbid we should actually model the behavior of Christ toward these individuals...
That would just be unthinkable..

I think it's because they think they are living in ungodly sin with the "choice" they made to be gay. And anyone living in so much ungodly sin must be evil, and/or burned at the stake......or did Christians stop burning people?
Not to mention all the gay people must be horrible liars too, as they keep claiming it's not choice and they were, get this, "born that way."
