Here is a list of ALL diseaes that are reportable in Illinois
http://www.idph.state.il.us/health/infect/reportdis.htm

HIV and AIDS are separately reportable conditions. They are low-priority* reportables; state public health department needs to be notified within 7 days of new cases.

*high priority reportables are things like the plague or anthrax, which need to be reported immediately upon notification.

And for those of you who are unfamiliar with what it means to have a disease reported to the public health department, check out this Best Answer I gave a while back. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AutqaEiy2hJ7voxeF4l9t9Tsy6IX?qid=1006033031802

very exciting. what this brings up is how various a danger those contaminated with HIV are to society. one factor says that they could desire to be quarantined to dodge healthful people from being contaminated, and the different factor says to have compassion. in all honesty, i dont fairly comprehend. im leaning in direction of quarantine, yet my concepts isn't made up.
