We could be. But I find that helping answer questions that people need to get answered outweighs a little extra burned coal. After all, what sense is there in preserving our planet, if many people living on it is miserable? I'm all for saving the planet, but I find that answering questions is just my way of doing my part for man. Besides, I find giving advice and finding answers easier than slowing global warming.

I don't think so!
My computer used indoors merely helps to keep me warm (warm knees) and is balanced by saving on the central heating - it doesn' work so hard!
Under the present Part L requirements any new buildings must have a percentage of its power provided by carbon renewable sources. This shows that Government is interested in building housing lots of computers and hopes to reduce the amount of carbon created in powering them. So this side is a yes!

According to what I saw in a TV documentary, the mainframe computer that Yahoo and AOL use, do require a lot of air conditioning.

So taken together all the users of Yahoo and other on-line services do contribute a lot. But I'm not a Luddite; they need to find a better way of cooling there massive number of components.

some people are definately heating up,and they are keeping the net full of hot air ,enough of that will contribute to global warming.

but

the end justifies the means

Maybe some of them will see the error of humanities ways and work towards a sympathetic existance as far as the warm Globe is concerned

you use a pc or laptop to enter y!answers.

kind of, I mean its so miniscule it dosnt even really matter. I mean prolly 10,000 of us using this yahoo questions couldnt equal the damage of one person going on an hour ride in your car. So stay home and answer questions rather than kill the envorment with your evil auto mobile. ride a bike plant a tree ect ect.

global warming is a water issue really, a fresh supply of water on the planet that may run out.
(fresh water as in well, spring water, not ocean water)
