When left alone, a female komodo dragon can internally fertilize her own eggs, this means reproduction without intercourse. Should the giant lizard be viewed with reverence by Christians for being a scaly facsimile to the Virgin Mary?

What you are talking about is Parthenogenesis,

Genetic tests conducted at the University of Liverpool have proved that all four baby dragons born to a female Komodo called Sungai were conceived by parthenogenesis, a form of asexual reproduction that is known to take place in lizards but never documented in this species before.

Parthenogenesis, which is derived from the Greek words for virgin birth, occurs when an egg spontaneously begins dividing as if it were an embryo, without being fertilised by sperm. It is known to have produced live young in about 70 vertebrate species, mostly reptiles and fish, and is thought to be encouraged when females are separated from males.

In humans, females have two X chromosomes and males one X and one Y chromosome. Komodo dragons and other species of the Varanus genus have W and Z chromosomes instead, and dissimilar chromosomes always produce a female.

When parthenogenesis takes place, the egg originally carries just one chromosome, either W or Z, which is duplicated. This means that all offspring are male, and able then to breed with their mothers.

However, this is not to be compared to the Virgin Mary.

That is so cool! I didn't know that. (I've always been jealous of anything that can regrow limbs) Wasn't there a Sci-Fi movie about Lizard people? Maybe Jesus and Mary were but they went extinct. I guess that's why Christians hate evolution...
:-)

giving birth = reproduction

I think you mean without sexual intercourse.

If anything, this is proof of the theory of evolution...the Komodo dragon has evolved to the point where it is able to survive/reproduce without sexual intercourse.

As the Komdo dragon is a lizard with legs and as snakes started out as lizards with legs before God took their legs from them and made them eat the dirt and slink on their bellies, one can assume that the Komdo dragon has gone against the will of God by retaining its legs instead of getting rid of them likely the observant snake. Therefore, the Komdo dragon is a heathen and a sinner and cannot be revered. It is a product of the devil and should be exterminated for its vile evil.

I'm sure no one believed the male komodo dragons when they said "It's not mine!"

Decent question, but no.
Humans HAVE to make the effor to procreate, whereas Komodos don't.
Mary was an anomaly, and it's a feat that will never be duplicated again.

Believe it or not some of them actually promote that as proof that virgin births can happen.

They should be on par with Mary.

And salamanders can regrow limbs! This puts them ahead of faith healers on the food chain!

Yes, and that means the Virgin Mary was a hermaphrodite.
