i have NEVER been a sweet-tooth. Quite the opposite actaully- ive always hated cakes/biscuits/sweets/chocolate. But recently ive really started to enjoy them and feel like a "release" when i bite into something sweet. How do i stop craving these things. its very hard when they are around the house.

1. Just don't buy them.
2. Drink something first.
3. Still craving? Eat fruits. Not as unhealthy.
4. Still? It's a mental thing then. Get release by differnt means. Work out, have sex ( ;-) ), join a club, take nice shower, read a good book, take a walk...or listen to some calming/agressive music - the latter always works for me.

Another issue:Perhaps you're not getting enough carbs? Your body demands them when you have certain cravings.
So try to eat more whole meal cereals, bread, noodles...

The best way to stop your cravings for sweets such as chocolate and cakes and other unnatural sugars is to eat fresh fruit, they contain the natural sugars your body needs with out the fat. If after a few days of eating fresh fruit you still have strong cravings for candy and cake then try switching to canned fruit. Canned fruit contains more sugars than fresh and from there you should be able to slowly switch to fresh fruit. The craving for sweets is a natural thing don't try to completely fight it by just not eating anything sweet.

Probably the best thing you can do is direct your sweet craving towards fruit rather than cake. I know is not the same pleasure, but you will be better off in the long run. You will regret eating those sweets one morning when you realize you cant button your pants. Believe me, I've been there.

there is nothing wrong with a craving it's just how you react to it that's bad. I can't stand things that are too sweet so when I crave something sweet I'll just have a spoonful of ice cream/or something sweet or ONE of those 100 calorie snack packs. They are not high in calorie and they get rid of the craving i may have.

Cut out sugar completely for a few days and it will wear off unless of course you have a problem with your blood sugars. Be careful.
