People actually believe that Jesus physically floated up to Heaven. This makes me wonder WHERE Heaven is. It certainly can't be that far, because even the nearest STAR to us is Proxima Centauri, which is 4.3 light-years from the Sun.
(That would be 23.52 million million miles.)
Now if Heaven is farther than the FARTHEST stars we can see--which are HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of light-years away, then JESUS would still be out there today, hurtling through space, on his way to Heaven, and he still won't get there for a few hundred thousand years!
So Heaven MUST be pretty close, if we are to believe that Jesus has BEEN in Heaven (bodily) for over 2000 years. That would mean that it would have to be close enough for NASA to be able to photograph it. Heck WE should be able to photograph it if we put our cameras on zoom...
(OK, maybe that last bit's an exaggeration.)
So why hasn't NASA been able to find it?

Because heaven doesn't exist. And I just love the excuses for not being able to see heaven: "It's in a different universe!!!"

Wow, that's a great question. As a child, I thought heaven was in the clouds. You can imagine how disappointing it was to first ride an airplane and not see white robed guys playing harps. Assuming Jesus travels at the speed of light, he should still be on his way to heaven. However, he may have jumped into a wormhole as soon as he was out of sight from the people on earth. Or maybe he turned invisible because he's supposedly a spiritual entity rather than a physical being. Or there is no logical explanation, that's what I'm guessing.

This is a truly idiotic question. It reminds of when Krushchev remarked on Gagarin's space flight to the effect that "he didn't see any God up there." Obviously heaven and hell are spiritual conditions not geographical locations. However since any atheist irregardless of education is still incapable of understanding reality on any level other than a crude materialism,it would be an exercise in futility to explain an abstract concept like a spiritual condition. By definition nothing purely spiritual can be physical,in any way or form. The questioner also fails to cite any source for this brand of truly weird literalism other than an unidentified "people" who supposedly "actually believe." This is a very non-abstract,material personality with zero knowledge of Christian theology and probably no capacity to comprehend it. Keep checking the cosmos, you won't find heaven.
You also won't find love.
Or loyalty.
Or compassion.
Or forgiveness.
Those aren't physical objects either; they are spiritual qualities. You can't take a picture of them. You can't put them under a microscope.
So I guess they just don't exist.

The Bible talks about 3 different Heavens.
1) Our atmosphere
2) Outer space
3) the Spiritual Heaven.

Jesus went to the 3rd Heaven, which can be any where because it is not physical, and NASA will not ever be able to see it.

First of all, the existence of Heaven as such is not proven.

Now, cameras can pick up on any material thing, whereas Heaven is supposed to be a spiritual realm. Has any camera been able to take a picture of a soul? I mean, is a ghost a soul? Is it proven? Are pictures with ghosts in it proven facts? Has a camera with spiritual characteristics been built?

Interesting.... I did a similar analysis years ago and concluded that the only possible reason we can't find Heaven is that it's not part of objective physical reality. It simply doesn't exist, except in the minds of believers. The anthropic principle tells us that, if God and Heaven were part of objective physical reality, we'd have discovered them by now.

It's 14.7 billion light-years to the edge of eternity. If there's some kind of god way out there, his existence is totally meaningless to those who live within the big bang's event-horizon.

Interesting, that the Astronomers believe they can not find dark matter which they believe makes unto 85% of the universe's material. I assume you agree. That means we can only see a mere 15% of the universe and you ask where is heaven! It sounds like modern scientist *believes* there are things invisible to the eye.

The answer is simple, spiritual beings, and things (heaven, God, angels, the soul) are all INVISIBLE to mankind.
This has always been what the Bible teaches, quote;

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and INVISIBLE, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Col 1:16)

God (and Heaven) used to be on the mountain top, but then donkeys were domesticated and it was possible for people to climb the mountain.

Then the imaginary place was relocated to the clouds, but Orville and Wilbur screwed that up.

Then it was moved beyond the atmosphere, but NASA and the Russians messed that up.

Now it is in another 'dimension', whatever the hell that means.

When the physicists figure out how to contact other dimensions, God will have to move again.

We've got him on the run.

They probably can't take pictures of God, angels, gravity, the inner workings of a tree, photosynthesis, radiation, atomic nuclei and wind either. Does that make them unreal? I can't convince you of something that I believe. It's your mind. From my perspective heaven isn't a material thing. It doesn't exist light years away. It's much closer. If you could see beyond the veil, you'd know.I haven't seen it but I know it's there. I guess if you wanted to see it to, you'd have to find a way contact someone that lives there and is willing to show you.

Science and Religion really dont go well together. Jesus didnt "float" to heaven He Ascended. And it's heaven, everyone has a different way of describing it. Probably the reason why we cant get pictures of heaven is because we need to die first.

Thoughtful math, and thoughtful question! When Christ prayed over a dead person He was about to raise, He said, "I do not say this for my sake, but for theirs, that they might believe." It is this concern, I believe, which caused Him to ascend in the fashion He did; He could have vanished and arrived in heaven instantaneously if we allow that He had all power. He wanted to give the disciples hope that He was going to present Himself before the Father, and a visible ascension gave them more to cling to than a mere vanishing act.

God dwelt in His own dimension outside of space and time before there ever was such a thing as space or time, and He remains outside of this dimension in a "place" if you will, known as eternity.

Hope this helps!
Tom
