I don't understand why my husband always cringes when I need to visit my family - it hurts my feelings. My parents and siblings live 4 hours away and I only go there to visit 2-3 times a year, but each time he always acts like it is so awful. They are nice and not anything to try to stay away from. His parents and his brothers live close to us and we see them all the time. My nephew is graduating and I want to go to celebrate - he suggested I go without him and then he tries to act cute like he is 1/2 joking but still means it.... Anyone have any ideas, thoughts, suggestions....?

I'd actually come out and ask why he has such a problem going to see your family. Since it hurts your feelings, you have a right to know and to let him know it hurts your feelings. He may not even be aware of it, but if he does and still continues to act that way, he sounds selfish and immature. He doesn't HAVE to like your side of the family, but, he should respect the fact you want to visit them and be a gentleman about it and go with you. Otherwise, in my eyes, he's a loser, sorry to say, but i"ve been there and done that =) Good luck!

How long have you been married?? If not very long, your hubby probably hasn't had sufficient time to get to know your family (since they live so far). It was a struggle for me too when I was first married (married 4 years now). But we lived close to my family and his. It took me a while to adjust to his too. My family is loud and crazy and his is a lot more reserved (although he has his crazy side too). Families are so different and you gotta find your place in a whole new one and it can take a while. It wouldn't hurt for your family to put forth a little effort to come down to visit you too. Your hubby might be able to be more relaxed in his own home.

For some reason your husband is uncomfortable around your family. So you may need to speak to him and find out the problem and see if you can get it fix. If not just go see your family along.

Tit for Tat is the premier thanks to divorce there is. you do not search for retaliation because it quickly breaks down into open conflict. if you're wanting to flow this course, ruin up now and circumvent each of the anger that incorporates conflict fare. He of course would not get excitement from your households organisation. there is no longer some thing incorrect with your kin, it truly is purely like the female at artwork or maybe once you've been in college, no longer some thing incorrect with her yet you probably didn't wish to be acquaintances. do not stress him to be acquaintances. it would want to be the ingredient that makes your marriage artwork. you in simple terms isn't compelled to determine out of your kin and him.

I have the same issue.. My fiance never wants to visit my family.. I have to pull teeth to get him to even go there for manditory holiday outings,, Its tough , cause i am in the same boat.. I say ,try to tell him that it hurts that he doenst care as much as you do about important family issues.. stress to him how important it is to have a good relationship with both him and your family together,, if that doesnt work you could just cry about it until he gives in .

Personally, I think that's really disrespectful. Even if he doesn't like them, they're partly his family now, and he needs to put up with them. Tell them that they aren't that bad, and that you want him to come with you and that he isn't being fair. Have they ever done anything to make him act this way? If so, explain to them what they did wrong and ask from an apology. If not, tell him to suck it up and come with you, because they've been perfectly kind to him and he's just being stubborn.

ask him about it, find out why he never wants to go and then solve the problem. if its just some dumb reason tell him that he chose to be part of that family by marrying you and he needs to be more caring and take your feelings into consideration. ask him to think about how he would feel if every time he wanted to see his family you started to complain until he either had to go alone or not go at all!

ask him why to start does he have such a problem with them. then tell him that you love your family and hardly get to see them and that one day they might not be here anymore! if he still has a problem then go without him, I would give anything to see my mom again!!

He sounds like a selfish sob. Go visit your family with or without him. You won't have them forever.
