could the universe create itself? They speak of big bang, but who caused the big bang? Could man create himself? Who made the laws to govern nature, night and day etc.?

Question of the century: If God does not exist why is he the burning question in every human heart? If God is non-existant and a non-factor, then why so much talk of him, on every part of the world? Even indegenous pple with no sense of civilization believe in a supreme being. Isn't there more proof that God is alive than he non-existant?

To all the atheists: I prefer to spend my life believing in God and die and learn it's a lie, than don't believe him, die and learn he's the truth and spend an eternity in punishment

AND IF HE IS NOT THE BURNING QUESTION, THEN WHY SO MUCH ATTENTION?

show me the facts that prove him to be non-existant

The "Big Bang" is said to have been a natural
incident; meaning not "supernatural"; a freak
accident of nature, if you will.
Could man create himself? There is no claim
of that having happened--not even by atheists.
Man evolved naturally, from his predecessor,
the pre-historic ape.
Who made the laws that govern nature? There
is no person or being, (according to atheists
and/or agnostics), that can be given credit for
that: nature, such as the cycle of the day/night,
is simply a rotating process--and so is the
movement of the planets. Trees & plants grow,
because they, too, have a natural process of
rotatation. The same goes for why humans do
not remain infants, but instead, age over time.
Why is the existence of God such a "burning
question"? Because it's one of the many things
that no one will ever be able to explain in a way
that satisfies everyone.
There are other "burning questions" that are
considerably more relevant, and which have a
greater need to be answered: Why do so very
many people, and countries' politics, conflict?
Why do so many states, here in the USA, have
different laws?
No two--or three, or four, of five--sort of people
can TOTALLY and COMPLETELY agree with
one another about ANYTHING. That's a simple
fact of life. It's superfluous, though, to ask why.
It's just one part of what makes us individuals.
Why not just leave it at that?

We all like it when we understand something. That's why some people become science geeks. It's not that understanding quantum mechanics is going to help them in their daily life, but they just feel good when they think they understand 'how things really are'.

Likewise religious people. And don't go implying that somehow they all believe the same thing: they DISAGREE! A lot. They can't all be right, so the fact that there are a lot of them means nothing. After all, most people thought the world was flat up till a few centuries ago. It didn't make it true.

No-one knows how the Universe came into being cos we weren't there to see it happen. Likewise life. I would rather go along the science route of coming up with ideas then testing them than waiving my right to make decisions about my own life by subscribing to some sectarian view of a modern copy of a long-since-lost ancient script.

God isn't the burning question in everyone's heart. The burning questions are "why is my world like this?" and "how should I live?". Religions answer these questions, but with badly out-of-date answers.

When I look around I see NO evidence that God exists at all. And if you suggest some you'll have to also explain why we have viruses, parasites and carnivores.

it quite is merely the undesirable Christians that declare it got here from no longer something!!! So the place did their god get the no longer something from?!! technology explains the huge bang replaced into no longer from no longer something yet from a singularity that replaced into each and every of the situation and means in the universe compressed right into a single element that then accelerated at present!! So in answer on your question it replaced into continually right here!! yet why are undesirable christians continually claiming the huge bang got here from no longer something? Are they that ignorant? Did they sleep via college or is it that they comprehend the actuality yet think of they are able to twist it because of the fact anybody is gullible?!! The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of britain and mainstream church homes all settle for evolution and the huge bang!! Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury placed it o.k. – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist attitude to scripture, ignoring scholarship and serious learning, and confusing different understandings of reality”!! advantageous that christians and atheists can agree and snort jointly even despite if it quite is on the fundies price!!

Ignorant people believe in primitive superstitions just like they did when they believed in Thor and Zeus.

Claiming something came out of nothing is a straw-man by the way. How did your god "come out of nothing"? When you answer that you will have the answer to your question.

In my opinion, there is/was never nothing, reality is based on something, likely necessary tautological mathematics. Nothing is "created". Time is derived and illusory.

If you really want to understand reality you will need to invest years studying and taking graduate courses in mathematics, physics and astronomy as I have done. Or else you can just stick your head in the sand and claim everything was created by an imaginary pixie and never have to learn anything again. Take your pick

Who said there ever was nothing? maybe something ever existed.
If there was a god and nothing else in the beginning, where did this god came from? What did he do before he 'created' our universe? Did he had more universes before, he destroyed? Why so huge and never ending? In such a long durance of time?
No a god is far less probable than energy creating matter.
Many cultures have spirits, but not all have a god. It's the unknown we are fascinated by.

Replace every instance of "God" with "Zeus".

Seeing as belief in a Supreme Being is all based on faith, and faith needs no evidence to back it, how can you give all the credit to God and not Zeus? Zeus told me he created the world; he spoke to me through my dreams, and told me that the Bible, Jesus, and God are just falsehoods. Zeus, is indeed, the real creator and ruler of the Universe, because I have faith!

Really, I'm an atheist, but I'm sure you get the point I'm making.

If humans are created in God's image, why are there male AND female. Remember, according to one version in Genesis, females were created as an afterthought so Adam would have a companion. Also, again, if humans were created in God's image, why does it take two to procreate? And why does it involve sex if God is sexless?
Why do you think God is a singular individual and there are no other deities to help out. Have you really thought this through?

No one created the laws that govern the universe. They have ALWAYS BEEN THERE. The milky way isnt the only galaxy out there. Man, is the last line of evolution, unless we create another line and it can be done. Its all a matter of thinking! We have just learned how to interpert and understand the laws.

Good question.

God put the truth in our hearts, and yes I believe the reason everyone talks about it is because they know.

God wouldn't have given us the freedom of believing and choices if he wanted people to truly serve him. Because then, we wouldnt be truly serving but because he had created us to.
That is why we have the choice, so we can never say... "well God, you never gave me the choice to choose," or something like "this isn't fair that I don't get to go to heaven"

"God" whether he is viewed as white, latino, black, asian, alaskan, portugese etc. is still a belief in a higher being

I think most people have it somewhat right, and they are on a good track.

They believe in a higher being whether they call him by name or think he is the sun.

I think there will not be concrete proof of God's existence until the prophesies in the book of revelation are fulfilled. Until christ returns, and until people realize their sins.

God Bless

Who told you that something came out of nothing? Can you even define "Nothing"? Have you heard of this term called, "Singularity", in physics?

Why so much talk? You came out talking here, and there are million other mindless puppets like you out there.

Do you even question, "Where did god come from?". Nope, just because everyone talks about it, it must be true!!! What a sweet logic.
