What, the pagan holiday co-opted by Christianity? No idea.

Personally, it's because it's the only time of the year my mother cooks lamb.

Speaking of which, why do Christians serve lamb at Easter dinner? Is this another Eat My Body kind of thing?

Why do you celebrate Christmas or Easter? They were stolen from the Pagans.

Moral of the story-Holidays can have any meaning a person puts on them. Easter is secular to many people. Fun time for the little kids to hunt easter eggs.

Before christians slaughtered theyre way into power, there were other more ancient religions. The christian holiday we call "easter" is a pagan holiday, converted by christianity to envelop the peolple of the time into they're new religion. When I celebrate EASTER Im throwing christian lies to the wind and honoring my pagan roots.

In my opinion most holidays today are not about the day celebrated but for the benefits to business's$$$$$$$$$$$$....As an example giving the plant known as Easter Lily to some one that is in a hospital, to be visited by a friend.......other times for the same reason could be a Poinsettia.....etc .......

Originally Easter was a pagan holiday associated with the Equinox that's why. Christianity wanted a monopoly so they set it up to detract from the Equinox.

Easter is the day that a magical bunny brings all little boys and girls candy, whether or not they are naughty or nice. It is like a combination of Halloween and Christmas, but without the effort or obligation of either.

Praise the Easter Bunny and his magical eggs.

The same reason they celebrate Christmas, it has a different meaning to them, but it is a free country and it is their choice to celebrate what ever holiday they so desire.
