I'm interested in the difference between a person's perception of themselves and reality. Is there anyone interested in talking about this?!?!

People who are attractive KNOW that they are attractive and don't talk about because they don't want to seem narcissistic. People that ask if they're good looking and ARE... know it and have low self esteem. They just needed to get off on hearing someone else saying it so they wouldn't have to.

Because its all relative.
Someone might be seen as attractive by some people and others might find them unattractive...depends on what you're attracted to..
Someone can say they're attractive...that proves nothing except that they think they are!
Someone might say they're ugly...al it says is what they think...you might think otherwise...

You could meet an anorexic on here, who would tell you she is fat.....
You might meet a gorgeous girl, who will tell you shes ugly....and so you wouldn't bother..you can't judge till you have seen!

Plus, most women as a rule think they'e too fat/too skinny, boobs too big/boobs too small. Wish had brown/blue/green eyes, bigger lips/smaller lips, bigger hips/smaller hips, bigger bum/smaller bum! The list goes on for ever! And since there is no such thing as perfect (which all women think they have to be) They all know they're not perfect, so no matter what they look like they'll never feel...well....my point is....not many women would call themselves attractive even if some people think they are...they will always see things they don't like and use them as proof that they're not... Thats why womens perception of themselves can often be far from what you would think is the truth. xxxx

My dear, it's all perspective. By reality, I can only assume you're trying to compare our own thoughts about ourselves to what you think. So, I can't tell you if there's anyone on here you would find attractive. I personally think I look alright. I get compliments from random people all the time. But you might think I look like a total dog. You know what? That's ok. Your opinion doesn't matter to me anyway.

It's an interesting subject. There are PLENTY of girls out there who are extremely confident. On Myspace I see pictures of girls that are kind of chubby or overweight, wearing skimpy clothes with captions like "Going out to the club! Sexy!!" Then there are girls who have issues and don't think they are pretty when the majority of people who see them at least think they are pretty cute. It's very strange how that works. I think I have a good view on myself. I think I'm pretty cute, I get hit on when I go out, I usually feel fairly confident after getting ready but I know there are always gorgeous girls in the same bar that get way more attention then I ever will and I recognize that and accept it.

There is no such thing as 'reality' darling, and as for perceptions, I was of the impression that I was a good speller untill unkind responses suggested otherwise.

I think im pretty, but not beautiful, but if i had a dollar for everytime someone said i was beautiful i'd be the female bill gates! Sometimes, like in my case, people won't say they're goodlooking because they don't want to seem concieted, and just by looking good people automatically assume your stuck up, but im not.
