To play D/C, use this chord diagram:
-x-
-3-
-2-
-x-
-3-
-x-
That essentially gives you the pitches that need to be heard to recognize a D chord over a C.

As far as Am7/C, an Am7 and a C share the same pithces. If you play a regular open C chord, you will have an Am7 already on top of a C.

D/C is a D major chord with a C natural in the bass. You would press down the second fret on the first string, (first finger) the third fret on the second string, (third finger) the second fret on the third string, (second finger) and the third fret on the fifth string. (fourth FInger. Do not play the sixth string. You can usually mute it with the fourth finger while you are playing the fifth string, or just avoid it.,

Amin7/C is an A minor Seven chord with a C in the Bass. Press down the first fret on the second string, the Second fret on the fourth string, and the third fret on the fifth string. The problem with this voicing is that the C on the fifth string, cancels out the natural A which would help to define the A Minor sound. What you have here functionally, is a C major chord.

One way to get a slightly more authentic sound would be to barre (lay your fourth finger across) the first four strings at the fifth fret, then reach back with your first finger and press down the third fret of the fifth string. Again, do not play the sixth string. This will also sound like a C Major chord with an added sixth but that's as close as I can come off the top of my head.

There are several ways to form the two chords you mention. Two ways are:

D/C: x3O232 or 89777x

Am7/C: 875555 or x3221O

Determine the placement notes and duplicate them up and down the fretboard.

Go to www.e-chords.com. They are helpful with a number of things and give illustrations. Also I don't get bombed with pop-ups.
