I'm a keen runner who is shortly going on holiday to New York for 2 weeks staying at a hotel in Times Square. I would like to know a) if it is feasible to go jogging from Times Square and if anyone can recommend any routes or b) how easy it would be (and how long it would take) to jog to Central Park to run there. Thanks in advance!

JOGGING IN TIMES SQUARE IS LIKE RUNNING IN A CROWDED MALL-IMPOSSIBLE! BUT IF U RUN ALONG TENTH AVENUE U COULD RUN STRAIGHT TO COLOMBUS CIRLCE (ABOUT 15 BLOCKS) THEN THROUGH CENTRAL PARK. TIMES SQUARE IS HEAVILY POPULATED BY TOURISTS! GOOD LUCK! HOPSTOP.COM HAS GREAT DIRECTIOPNS AND DIRECT ROUTES.

Central Park is about 18 blocks north of Times Square. I would highly advise not running in or around Times Square--there are way too many tourists. You'll end up getting stuck behind tourists and be forced to move at a snail's pace.

Run north up to Central Park and run there. It's a huge park, with many running paths. It's also got very beautiful scenery!

You won't run far if you're trying to run anywhere else in NYC. Way too many people!

You can also jog along the Hudson River on the west side of Manhattan. And it's closer than Central Park.

I agree withg gopher...dont bother running around the city. Take the train up to central park and run there, OR, run by the water. From about 14th street on the west side to battery park...taking the train to and from of course.
