I really thought that she would make it to next week. I thought that she and Jordin would be the last two.

Yes it was wrong b/c she was/is the best, but I'm sure she'll get a record deal without all the restrictions and demands that come with an A.I. record deal.
Take Chris Daughtry for example-he was in Top 3 last season, and look at him now-with a platinum album and very successful!
I'm sure the same thing will happen to Melinda.
Not only is she a phenomenal singer, but she genuinely seems like a very sweet, down to earth person.

Yes I was shocked that she was voted off last night. Alot of things went into the equation though. Maybe too many people thought Melinda was going to be one of the two and didn't vote that night. Sometimes assuming can get you no where. I truly think because Blake is so uniquely different and unlike anything we have had on American Idol that is why he stayed. We have yet to have someone like Blake win. I feel it really had to come down to Melinda and Jordin because they have sooo many similiar characteristics. It would of been interesting to see them compete against eachother. I voted for Jordin that night because I was affraid if I didn't then she would of been the one going home. I just love the high range that Jordin has when singing and how her face lights up and her bubbly personality comes out in everything she says and does. I am very curious to see what Blake is going to do next week because I haven't seen anything new from him for awhile. His way of singing is getting old so he needs to do something we don't expect. I really like Jordin though!

i don't think she should have been voted off. The girl had great vocals and proved it week after week.
Like Simon said, she was the most consistent one.
Whether she looked old school or not, it's not a search for the next beauty pageant. For crying out loud, it's a singing competition, and from day 1 she proved nothing but that.
They need to change the voting system and stop letting America vote bc clearly they are voting for beauty over talent. Which is sad and pathetic. That's why a lot of people don't audition for these type of shows because they know they will get shot down by America.
I wish her all the best and in my book she was the best singer this season without a doubt and she will perservare.

No, she deserved it honestly. I know granted she has a big voice, but since when is that a better voice? Blake is more of an artist in that a song is his and no one else's when he performs, and yes, he performs and the other two mail it in every week and just do exactly what we have seen for 6 seasons. People who call her the best know nothing about the business and very little about music. B big Tina Turner voice sold records 20 years ago, a smooth Beyonce voice like Jordins and a contemporary Keane and 311 or Maroon 5 sound like Blakes is key now. I knew that would happen all along.

The majority of the people that actually vote are a younger crowd and they prefer Blake and Jordin. I love Melinda's voice and stage presence but I think Jordin will win.

hmmm actually im not that shocked cuz well we all know for a fact that jordin is AMAZING AT SINGING, so is melinda, and well blake has alot of those fan clubs and he is really good at beatboxing so i sorta guessed that melinda was going to get voted off cuz blake and jordin has more fans.

I too thought as you did. That the 2 girls would be there till end.

Same here. I will not watch the show now.
The same people that vote there must be the ones who elect people like George Bush.
Melinda will certainly be grabbed by a recording studio.
She is awesome. The other two are very good amateurs.

I really can't believe it. She was constantly the person being praised by Simon, of all people! She is way better than the two in the finale, but she has guarenteed herself an outstanding career!

yea i was shocked when I saw it online since i missed it but ye blake bee-bop routine is getting old so i thought he'd been gone but...i guess America likes that
