Yes, people actually believed that he physically floated up to Heaven. Which makes me wonder where Heaven is. It certainly can't be that far, because even the nearest star is Proxima Centauri, which is 4.3 light-years from the Sun.
(That would be 23.52 million million miles.)
Now if Heaven is farther than the farthest stars we can see--which are HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of light-years away, then he would still be out there today, hurtling through space, on his way to Heaven, and still won't get there for a few hundred thousand years...
So Heaven must be pretty close, if we are to believe that Jesus has BEEN in Heaven (bodily) for over 2000 years. That would mean that it would have to be close enough for NASA to be able to photograph it. Heck WE should be able to photograph it if we put our cameras on zoom...
(OK, maybe that last bit's an exaggeration.)
You know...I think this calls for it's own question..

The tomb was empty, says the Christian. That means the body got up and walked out. They saw Jesus and thought he was a person, so the body must have looked real and alive (zombie?). They felt the piercing in the side from the spear, so it must have been physical. Then Jesus ascended into heaven. Somewhere during the ascending part, his body changed into a spirit and the physical matter disappeared into thin air. Quite hokey indeed.

Jesus' body was "translated" or changed into the "glorified" spiritual body that all saints will receive once the enter Heaven. Even though Jesus' body never knew sin, it was necessary for Him to be rid of His earthly body as "Corruption (flesh) cannot put on (enter in the presence of) incorruption (all that is holy)." This is why he told the women not to touch Him when they saw Him the morning He had arisen! He had not yet "ascended to the Father" and been restored to His rightful place, therefore any touch of anything earthly would've corrupted Him. His tomb is known, for it was the one that belonged to Joseph of Arimathea. He was buried there for three days as the prophecy said He would be, and arose, leaving nothing fleshly behind to find!

Christ did no longer ruin any regulations. he's a glorified and exalted guy, and a glorified, resurrected being. Christ become additionally sinless, harmless etc. So how would desire to He be corrupt in a resurrected physique? God's Kingdom is an surely actual place and Christ isn't a Spirit. The Scriptures needless to say state that he took his physique with him. He did no longer transmute right into a Spirit. i do no longer understand the way this thought "debases the Bible?"

Actually, it says in John 3:13 that Jesus Christ was ascended into heaven and He is seated at the right hand of the Father (God) and He remains there until God instructs Him to come back to earth to get His people. (The ones that have accepted Him as their Savior). It (the Bible) goes on to say that Christ's body was made "glorified" which means that it was changed into a substance other than flesh, or human matter. (I'm assuming so that it was able to withstand the holiness of heaven, ya know?)

His body rose with him away from the eyes of man, now what happened to his body after that I don't know. Because he is Jesus I'm sure he just shed his bodysuit and became spirit being once entering the heavenly realms. His physical body did not stay here on earth. The only thing he left behind was his legacy and the Holy Spirit.

Today is the Feast of The Ascension when Jesus who had risen from the dead 40 days earlier was taken from the disciples sight and lifted by angels to heaven. No point looking for His body here on earth.

Jesus resurrected "BODILY". Walked the earth for another 40 days, was observed not only by His Apostles and Mary Magdalene but about 500 other people. He ate, and drank, and talked. He then ascended to heaven "BODILY", and now sits upon His throne to the right of the Power of God
