How do I get my HDMI Philips DVD player to play in HD on my 42" Philips Plasma screen?? Yes the tv is HD ready, the dvd player has an HDMI port in the back, and I have an HDMI cable. I have everything done, I just need to get it onto an HDMI channel. I have my PS3 on an HDMI channel, but the process is a bit different for the HDMI dvd player. HELP??

I have 2 HDMI ports in my television, I think the trick is to get it onto an HDMI channel. There are two HDMI channels, one is occupied by my PS3. I have the HDMI cable hooked up to the dvd player and the other side in the HDMI port, i choose the resolutions as 1080i, and the resolution says CVBS. On the PS3, the resolutions read normally.(1080i) help??

CVBS refers to composite video (yellow plug).
Make sure on the DVD player you enable video output via the HDMI port.

On the TV side, use the Input or Source button on the remote to select the appropriate HDMI port.

I don't know how the PS3 is setup since I've never actually used it. But an HDMI port only attaches to an HDMI port. So, if your TV has only one HDMI port and you've already attached your PS3 (lucky son of b*tch), then your out of luck.

But you might be able to find a switcher box that connects to both the PS3 (lucky son of a dog) and the DVD player to it....and the connector would have one connection to the TV.

Plug it into the HDMI port, choose the proper input setting on your TV remote and you should be golden.
