On the beach at sunset for 4th of July....in front of a bonfire. Our friends and family were all around - because everyone knew but me. He waited until the sun was about gone and pulled me in front of the fire and everyone and told me how much he wanted to marry me. He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. Everyone was crying....and he even had his friends time a huge display of fireworks to go off right when i said yes.
The pictures are amazing with the sunset and the fire. It was very romantic.
3 months later the beach where he proposed was destroyed by a hurricane - but its still very special to us.

My boyfriend and I were visiting his family in El Paso, TX, and I just so happened to have a friend who owned a cabin in Rui Doso, NM... we rented a jeep and went up to this 6 million dollar cabin. We were both chickens when the sun started going down because we were in the middle of no where.
On the patio that overlooked the Ski Apache resort there was a gas powered fire pit. We were sitting there just talking about life, love and how happy we were to be there.
He inturupted me and said, "there is something very important I need to tell you!" As I took a swigg of my red wine, hoping he wasn't pulling out a pic of some kid he fathered in a previous relationship, he pulled out the ring and got on his knees!!
I was so happy and relieved at the same time and tears started to fall!!!
That was this past Christmas and our wedding is scheduled for September 29th.. We still reflect on that night!! The sky was so clear and the air was crisp and perfect!!!

Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan. January 29, 2004
Red Wings vs. Devils
He was nervous and our seats were right in the middle of a bunch of college aged guys. He didn't do it until after the game but it was still sweet. I wouldn't have it any other way. It was not a traditional proposal and I'll never forget it I know he put a lot of thought into it and planned it out. He told all our family and friends, everyone was waiting for my phone call after he popped the question. We were both on seperate bowling leagues at the same place/same time and the next day we had to bowl, he had roses and balloons waiting for me at the alley and when I walked in, everyone was cheering and congratulating us. It was a lot of fun.
He also asked my father several months before. We dated for about 4 years prior to our engagment. For the past few months prior to the proposal my father kept getting on my case about when we were going to get married and what a loser my boyfriend was. I was so frustrated with him. Turns out he knew the whole time and was excited about it and wanted to push my buttons for the hell of it.
We've been married almost 2 years and expecting our first child (a girl: Raegan Marie) September 3rd-ish. :)

Mine is kind of long sorry.
I have to be at work at 5:30 a.m. and my fiance not until 8 a.m. like normal people. Anyways it was Oct. 11 and I got in my car to go to work and notice flowers and a card there. Well my fiance has done that before so I thought great, but no big deal. I get to work and there is a card on the door. (I admit I didn't see it because it was dark). So I make my way upstairs to my desk and their are more roses and a card there. Now I'm nervous. Next out of the dark conference room comes my then boyfriend in a suit. I almost had a heart attack! He gets on one knee and ask me to marry him. The cards all talked about how much he loved me and the last one had a little box with a ring in it. It wasn't the fanciest thing ever, but for him to get up extra early and wait for me to get to work at 5:30 a.m. was truly amazing. He said he had been waiting since 4:30 that morning until I got in. I'm the only one in the office at that time so he was able to do it without my co-workers cooing at us.

We were in the Cayman Islands. We spent the day with some friends at the Sea Turtle farm. When we got back to the condo we decided to take a walk on the beach before we went out to eat for dinner. Nearby there is a point called Starfish Point. We walked along the water and picked up starfish. We sat down at the farthest point and watched the sun slowly set. Then my fiance grabbed my hand and told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and my daughter. That was almost a year ago. Our wedding is June 9th and we're headed back to the Caymans for our honeymoon and we will always go back to Starfish Point to watch the sun set. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

It was the w/e of my birthday--we had just been white waterrafting and discussing an incredible class 4 rapid. Water was too high to kayak so we'd taken a raft instead. We were the only experienced rafters in the raft and as the others weren't taking direction well, they didn't help us steer at all. We were laughing about how for an army guy--he was incredibly weak. For dinner that night, we'd gone out to Biltmore Estate (one of the gorgeously elaborate Vanderbilt houses)--drinking a rather nice Viogner while eatting creme brulee. A symbolic merger really as that is my favorite wine, but his favorite dessert. It was rather late as we'd finished dinner--probably around 9pm. And it was raining. We'd hoped to walk in the gardens after dinner (i think he was going to propose there in one of the walled gardens). So after the dessert, he got down on one knee in the restaurant and proposed.

My fiance planned a weekend in Chicago (our favorite city)
We stayed at the Swiss Hotel!! It's right on the River & Lake Amazing!!
We spent the day going to places we love..Navy Pier, Boat Ride around the city, and shopping.
Then that night he took me to The Hancock Tower where we ate at The Signature Room on the 95th Floor!!
Amazing views of the city!!
Before dessert I went to the ladies room, I was nervous because I knew he was going to do it.
I came back and our waiter came up with a large domed silver plate and told me that a "Special Dessert" had been ordered for me.
He set it down and lifted the lid and there was my ring in it's box open with flowers around it.
Then my sweetie got up and took the ring and got down on one knee and asked me!!
Not only all that but, later we rushed back to our hotel to watch fireworks from Navy Pier!
He said a long time ago I said I wanted there to be Fireworks when I get engaged! He still remembered that!
It was the 8/26/6 Best Weekend Of My Life!!
We're getting married 10/6/7!!

We had a nice dinner at home and then went into our Family Room to start a fire and drink some wine. He remembered that he had bought a pumpkin for us to carve - it was the weekend before Halloween. He had left it in the car. He brought the pumpkin in and I began to cut the top piece out. When I pulled off the top piece to clean out the inside, I noticed there weren't any seeds inside. I was sitting on the floor and working on the coffee table, so I leaned over and looked all the way inside the pumpkin, and saw there was a ring box. I was so surprised!! I pulled out the ring box, and he took the box from me, opened it up, got down on one knee and asked if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. He had spent the previous evening picking out the 'perfect' pumpkin (his friend said it took hours just to pick it out) and cutting a piece out of the bottom of the pumpkin and digging out the insides, and then putting it back together! How sweet is that?!!

We were off the coast of the Mexican Riviera returning home from a seven day cruise. It was sunset and we just enjoyed our last dinner on the ship when he got down on one knee to have "pictures taken" by our server. He wanted to capture the moment that he proposed to me on film. I am a wedding planner and thought what a weird way to be taking pictures with him on one knee on the floor. So we take one picture, then another, and finally on the third time of smiling and posing and wondering how many more shots we were going to take he had the ring case out and open before I realized what he was doing.

We were visiting his parents in San Diego and we went out on the beach to play catch with his dog we were having a blast, this was on July 23, 2005...the sun was barely going down and out of no where he pretended to get the ball for his dog Bogey and looked up at me with a ring in his hand and asked the question....that caught me by surprise..but it was really awesome...never saw it coming...the whole scene before he asked the question wasn't romantic, we were just a bunch of kids playing and having a good time..I was 23 at the time!
