My religion bowed to the pressure of public opinion and governmental regulations and dismissed beliefs it used to have when it started. So am I to believe that God made a mistake or they have sold out and no longer adhering to God's commandments which would make it a false religion now if the latter is true. If God was wrong to begin with than how could my religion be true if mere man has to correct him?

I am confused and need help in determining who is wrong now?

I guess it depends on what they changed. Not everything that a denomination does is required by God. Some things are believed or done that are thought to be good and beneficial customs or beliefs, but that there can be differences of opinion on. For example, one denomination may believe in a literal Noah's flood, while another may believe its a metaphor or allegory. Christianity does not require either belief.

This has been going on for years.

The church is all public relations.

Religions are faced with similar forces of natural selection as in the natural world. Religions, and religious views, evolve.

Christian holidays, for example, were mostly taken up when Christianity was spreading throughout Europe and converting the pagans living there. They pagans liked their festivals so the early Church adopted the festivals as their own and changed their meaning. Eostre becomes Easter, etc, etc. All the traditions we have about Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc, all come from pagan traditions. The church adopted these because it made Christianity a better sell to the people.

The church persecuted Gallileo because he suggested the earth revolved around the sun when the church knew very well that the sun revolved around the earth.

I too am curious about what this particular belief is that has now changed.

In my opinion, if your religion worships an infallible god, then it sold out when it changed it's policy. I mean, if god said something, how could it be wrong? I wonder this all the time about the bible. Christians say that portions of the New Testament are "no longer relevant" in today's society. To me, that means you are dismissing the word of god. It should be an all or nothing deal. Either you take the whole thing and revere it, or you discard it. Picking and choosing what to believe from GOD'S WORD seems unbelieveably arrogant to me.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever more. He changeth not. Now man on the other hand, change constantly. You cannot base God's commandments on what men decide. If you want to know what God thinks about anything, all you have to do is find it in the Bible. Some men change to fit whatever fad or craze is in at any particular time. God has not changed. And not only has He not changed, He is not pleased. May God Bless U.

Look at it this way. God does not change. His commandments for us can according to the circumstances. During the Old Testament, the people could not live up to the full gospel, so He gave them the Law of Moses (eye for an eye, for example), When Christ came, he gave them a higher law (turn the other cheek). It all depends on the worthiness of the people at the time.

You have to look to the Bible. Was their belief before or after a man-made decision or is it bible-based.
God doesn't make mistakes, nor does his opinion change on matters.
So, that being said, either your religion sold out, or is progressing forward, depending on the situation and it's biblical basis.

Religion frequently takes it upon itself to administrate what it believes the will of its deity(s) to be, without direction from said deity one way or another. There is much that is open to interpretation. Religion tries to help with that. It doesn't always get it right, but it tries its best.

The answer will depend on what exactly the issue is and what the decisions, both previously and now, were based on.

Believe that Jesus tells the truth-make sure it is a real issue-like adultry the 10 commandments, homosexuality rejected in Romans 1, or whatever-and find a place that agrees with the clear teaching of the bible
be sure your in order and not in sin. I am prayin for you. this helped me=

this is how I came to know Jesus as my king of kings and learned true love and honor-as you wish princess-true belief would believe and recieve Jesus-and then they have the power to love everyone-heart and soul! John 3 Jesus says to repent of sin and be born again.

Revelation 1:1 & 3:19&20 Jesus speaking from heaven says "I love YOU AND KNOCK ON YOUR HEART DOOR TO COME IN WHEN YOU REPENT FROM SIN AND ASK ME IN, i WILL BE YOUR FRIEND AND YOU MINE."

I prayed, Jesus, I am sorry for my sins-even one lie, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen.

it truely worked for me.

why not believe Jesus I did and He is my best friend now too. and helps me care about all people heart and soul. The rest of this will work itself out supernaturally.
