I can not summon up an ounce of sympathy for someone who spewed hatred and wasted his one chance at life at dividing people.
A waste of life.

The guy was an arrogant, hypocrate, creep. For anyone who's seen Little Nicky with Adam Sandler, I hope he gets the Hitler treatmant. This world is better off without Fallwell, it's people like him that start witch hunts and preach intolerence.

He was someone a lot of people disliked, but what concerns me is that the people he represented saw him as a good force in the world. That means that they'll find someone just as bad as he was to further their agenda. Other Christian denominations need to put them in their place. Non-Christians can't have the same effect.

We've been through this over and over, but one more time, he will not be missed at my house. I feel for his family, but he was a bigot, a homophobe, a misogenist, a greedy dollar hound and into dirty politics. He even started a university to teach his "Christian" novices how to infest politics. Totally un-Christian-like, I would say.

Falwell was mixed up, merging politics and religion too much to a nearly theocratic view, which I strongly am opposed to. I used to consider myself part of the religious right but when I saw their adherence to politics, particularly just the Republican party, and how they drove people away from Christ because of stubborn political views I left association with them. I had a negative view of the man, but I still respect him, and do not take pleasure in the death of anyone. If my enemy falls in battle, I show respect for them, I do not cheer above their corpse.

He did plenty of good, but as he himself stated, he was "tired of being a lightening rod". Seems he was always retracting his statements.
His death does prove one thing, though.....that garbage about the Rapture isn't true because he had INSISTED -- not just hoped -- that he was going to be a part of it -- and not be one of the ones who would experience death. I know of others who were similarly ADAMANT about being raptured while they were alive....they are now 6 feet under.

I think that he probably started out thinking that he was doing good and the fact that he got power hungry and corrupt lead him to be the evil person he became. Religion was his "one ring to rule them all"

Fallwell who? Not important enough for me to recognize. He will always be known as "that guy who is obsessed with the Teletubbies"
Good Riddance.

I hated the things he did and said as a fundamentalist. But I won't cheer over anyone's death.

He was a pretty terrible guy. The world is better off without him, something I'd say of very few people.
