I have tried eating good a little for every 3 hours for a month now and ive gained weight, i even use the elliptical everyday. I cant afford to keep eating so much throughout the day, i have a baby and i go to school at night-so i find that i completely lose track of time and only eat twice a day. anyone else have this problem? have you found any other alternative?

it sucks that money plays such a role in how you look and how healthy u are. Drs and statistics always say we are fat people, well if food wasnt so dang expensive itd be alot easier for "america" to be less overweight.

i dont eat junk food i just wont eat that much a day because i can only afford so much healthy food, i have a 9 month old to feed-ive been more worried about what he eats rather than what i eat. PPL always say thats an excuse for ppl who dont want to try, but ive ate healthy my whole life, i know whats good to eat, i have a baby to feed while i have no money...coming from someone who has no money-its alot more expensive to eat that way with healthy food.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Sadie has a very good point on the innexpensive things to buy, and I just got done posting a long message on someone else's question, the answer i gave them i will post here too

Ok, so heres the deal. For the best results in losing weight, building muscle, maintaining what ever it is your trying to do. Eating is about 75% of health and wellness. It is strongly recommended that you eat at least 5 times per day. I would recommend eating 2 egg whites mixed with 1 egg per day and maybe some whole-grain toast w/ no butter for breakfast. and about 2 hours later, eat a protein bar, I use TRIM protein bars that I get through my business, they are low in fat and high in protein, not alot of carbs. 2-3 hours later eat a small lunch, what ever it is you would like, try to avoid fatty food(doesn't seem like you have a problem there), then 2 hours again eat another protein bar, and for dinner eat something simple, like a chicken breast or maybe a salad or something. If you moderate the amount of food your eating each meal and make sure you continue to eat through out the day it will maintain a fast metabolism and you will lose weight. and if your trying to shape up, throw in some sit ups in the morning and maybe even a jog, cardio will burn the fat and sit-ups will shape up your stomach and i am pretty sure that is EVERYONE'S ultimate goal while losing weight...

P.S. never cut something out of your diet, like carbs...that is the dumbest thing you could do, you need carbs to have energy

I eat 5-6 times a day and I do it inexpensively. I also lost about 50 pounds and have kept it off. It's funny the people say eating healthy is expensive... it's cheaper than a bag of Doritos or a burrito! Think about it - bananas are 50 cents a pound, a bag of lettuce (which will last for 2 big meals) is like $2, yogurt and cottage cheese are under a dollar apiece, and you can always find lean meats like chicken breasts on sale. Even frozen Weight Watchers meals are inexpensive.

If you don't eat healthy snacks every three hours like veggies, fruit, whole grains, dairy, lean protein, and drink plenty of water than you arn't going to see positive results. You said yourself all you can afford is the dollar stuff and you only eat twice a day sometimes...that isn't going to cut it. If you really want to lose weight you have to commit to eating every three hours no matter what and eat healthy foods like: raw veggies, fruit, granola, oatmeal, whole grain, lean protein like chicken, turkey, seafood, etc. Good luck

I eat 5-6 times a day, lost 35 lbs. You must be doing something wrong. What are you eating? Get the South Beach Book and read it. It is working for me.
