Death is a very scary and ambiguous thing because nobody knows. To be honest, when you die, your dead. You have no soul or spirit that lives on. What separates us from the fly that gets killed on the wall? We're both living organisms that die. The fly's spirit does not live on and neither does anyone else's. Enjoy life while you can because once it ends, it ends.

I personally, am terrified of death, so hopefully it is a long way off. I pray to god often and hope I am wrong; many people do. I believe that all religions will decline if my philosophy of death is proven true.

I have read a lot about Near Death Experiences and believe a lot of them to be true. My own mother had an experience where she was rushed to the hospital and declared clinically dead shortly after arrival. She says that she saw a light and was moving towards it. She felt warmth and incredible love--very good feelings and no fear. Before she arrived at the source of the light, she heard a voice telling her that she was going to have to return, that it was not yet time for her to die. She was going to get married and have children still. This was before she was married with children. The next thing she knew, the doctors were working on her in the emergency room. Obviously, the fact that I am typing this message is evidence that what the "voice" told her was true.
Many other experiences I have read about include many of the same elements. You move towards a light, and often arrive there. There is generally an intense feeling of joy, love, and familiarity. Many people talk about how they are greeted by parents, grandparents, and friends who died previously. They describe heavenly messengers coming to teach them, show them things, or tell them they have to return. Sometimes they are shown what will happen in their life if they do or don't return. Most are very sad to leave this "spirit world' and come back to their bodies because of all the pain they feel on Earth.
So besides what I believe as part of my faith, I have several other confirmations that death is not a thing to be afraid of. While I fear the pain involved (depending on how I die), I don't fear what will happen afterwards. It seems that we will be happily received in our next stage of living.

I am ready to meet my creator, the living God. Even if I didn't have His Word, the Holy Bible...I can still see His glory in His creation. I worship the Creator, not the creation.

Here on earth we are bound by time and space. God is not bound by what we know and understand.

When I die, I will go to heaven. I know this because God has given me the gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. He offers everyone this gift, only not everyone accepts it.

There are only two places to go when we die...Heaven or Hades. There's no "in-between."

We will no longer need our bodies therefore, when they are put in the ground or cremated, it matters not. God provides what we need...even in facing death. I have great peace about my eternity.

What path have you chosen in life so that you know where you will spend eternity?

Peace be with you.

I think when a person passes away they are able to look back at their life and reflect. Then they are reincarnated if they weren't able to reach enlightment.

I don't think I am afraid of death, I just don't want to die now because I have so much I want to do before I recieve the answer of the great mystery of what happens after a person dies.

Well I can't forget about what it says in the bible.
So that is out.. but I can say that I don't know how
I will die, and it's kind of irrelevent to me, as I do
not live my life to the way I'm going to die.

It could be on a motorcycle, it could be in my sleep.
Only God knows.

But I do know that my soul will be lifted up out of my body
and I will get to heaven, and account for my actions here and then will live forever with God and being the bride of Christ just like every other believer will.

That whoever is saved in Christ Jesus will meet Him face to face, to be with Him forever.
Whoever is not saved in Christ Jesus will enter hades until the day of judgment comes, then they will be cast into the lake of fire.

I do believe what the Bible says, and that is exactly what I believe will happen.

I think there is a certain amount of fear at the thought of dying for anyone. I believe what happens is you simply go to sleep and wake up standing in front of St. Peter at the pearly gate looking in a book. I believe he will say here you are or I don't find your name here.

When you die, your brain stops functioning. Without your brain you lose your senses, your memories, your personality, your ability to think, etc. For all intents and purposes, you cease to exist.
I guess I'm a little afraid of dying, but I'm certainly not afraid of death.
