read Genesis and realize others were here as well. The men of old, the men of renown. These are the Nephilim, the fallen angels that were cast down w/ Lucifer.
then from bible and ancient digging, realize the Nephilim are what we deem as pharaoh's of egypt. notice the odd heads? the big hats? the odd face masks? those were to hide their odd features for they were a mix of angel and man (bible again tells us they took up wives as they saw them as fair).
then look into bones and realize we have skulls, bones, etc that are not human but are. heads 3 times the size, some stretched long, others with horns. its all there, in about any book on skeletons. well these are the bones of the Nephilim from after the flood, Noah's flood.
Noah's flood, the 10 plagues, and almost every death item in the bible all pertains to the Nephilim. God is telling us, go out and kill them, for they are evil, half man, half angel, they are demonic, etc, etc.
Today we know these pharaoh's aka Nephilim aka Fallen Ones as the Illuminati. Ring a bell?
UFO's are the Nephilim as well, and why we see them all through history in pictures and even mentioned in the bible. Talk to UFO people, they are now linking it all together as well.
God did not go out and have anyone kill any of his children. But children that were produced by a ill mix of angel and man, and was from a fallen angel, oh you bet ya, God wanted them destroyed then and still does now.
But since they have lasted, and grown in size, they are now what we deem as the NWO (new world order) and they are trying to chip us, just as the bible says they will, with a mark. The national ID is the mark of the beast, not the RFID chip. read up on the National ID, it comes out Dec 2008. you can't buy, sell, have a bank account, walk into a building, nothing w/o it. exactly what the bible tells us will happen.
Please open your eyes and connect the dots. The fallen ones have confused time and history to confuse man. For they hate us, for we are the creatures of God, and they can't get back at God, so they do things to us for revenge.
This is why we have abductions with UFO's. one is torture as pleasure for them and two they use us as food and breading vessels to produce more n more of them or what most call " the grays". the repitle aliens are the actual nephilim, the grays are the hybrid children. (reptile, serpant in bible, ring a bell?) also get on google images and pull up ancient gods from egypt, Osiris is a good one, notice he is painted green, why? cause he was a reptile aka a Nephilim.
Don't believe what you have been taught, its a lie, for there is a war going on, and it is for your soul.

If you are an atheist, you don't believe that there is a God that exists that could have killed anybody. You did read the entire Exodus story, right?
But anyway, Rameses II was the son of Seti, who decreed that all of the firstborn of Israel a generation before must die, attempting to kill the deliverer who was foretold. Where's the outrage at him, or at Rameses, who made the same declaration? Clearly, for God, the tenth time of telling Pharaoh to let His people go was the charm. Before that, God had not put anything life-threatening on the people of Egypt. The first plague turned the Nile and all other water in Egypt to blood. Since they worshipped the Nile god, surely he could restore the waters! The ninth plague was utter darkness. After each plague, Pharaoh called for Moses and asked him to pray to God that the plagues would stop. Moses did. But then, Pharaoh refused to let the people go. I think God was smart enough to know that Pharaoh was never going to release His people. Egypt had enslaved, beaten and killed thousands and thousands of Israelites, children included. Apparently, God had said, enough is enough. To this day, Egypt's former glory is its only claim to fame. Tourism.

As some have already mentioned, Pharoah was going to kill all the firstborn children of Israel, as his father had done at the time that Moses was born. God sent a plague that would have killed the firstborn of all families, if the Israelites had not protected themselves (as you mentioned).
One of your problems is that for you, mortal life is everything and after that, you have nothing. To you, death is an unimaginably terrible thing. Don't think I'm saying that it is okay and wonderful that all those kids died. Of course its not. But there were higher purposes that God had for his people. Although you would probably see it as a good thing, if God had not interceded to free Israel, there would be no Judaism, Christianity, or Islam today. He had given the Pharoah 9 previous chances to agree to let his people go. Each plague grew increasingly worse. The first few were annoying, but hurt no one. As Pharoah increased his stubborness, God was forced to increase the intensity of the plagues. The benefit of saving the firstborn of Israel and freeing the people from slavery outweighed the taking of the lives of the firstborn of Egypt.
Again, there was a specific, important purpose for doing this, and I do not think that it is something that needs to be repeated, especially because we do a good job of killing our own children with violence, crime, AIDS, war and poverty. These are all spread by mankind, and can be prevented by mankind.

I imagine because in OT law, the sins of the father pass to the the children. The Pharoah was worshipped as a god by his people, therefore, they received the punishment right along with him. If they had turned to God after ANY of the first 9 plagues, their children would have been saved as well.
NT grace leaves us each accountable for our OWN sins. A similar thing WILL happen during the 7 year Tribulation that is to come. (Revelations) People will be given MANY chances to turn to Jesus, but most will still be so wrapped up in "self" that even though they see for their own eyes, they will not accept Him. But at that time God will deal with each on an individual basis.

First of all, Pharoah had more than enough warnings. That's what the first 9 plagues were for. Each of them could have been avoided by letting the Jews go. It's not like he just sent 10 plagues in a row. But much like yourself he was blinded by his arrogance.
I think killing the first born male was Gods way of wiping out the names of those who persecuted the jews, and forcing the women to marry non-egyptians, thereby diluting the race. Back then that was a big deal, and is a big theme in the bible. I'm sure you noticed that when you read it.
Also, I'm sure Pharoah and other egyptians, killed their fair share of jews during the 400 years they enslaved them.

There is a really fundamental and basic aspect in believing in God that you are missing here. If someone believes in God, they likely believe in the soul. If there is a soul, then the body is merely a vessel that holds the "real" person. All death is, then, is the release of the soul, which frees it and allows it to go to God. The Bible further argues that children are innocent, and thus the souls of children are not likely subject to any negative consequences. So God's supposed killing of children is not ultimately a bad thing to the children at all. They are freed and brought to God. This does not, however, excuse the horrors and evils of the world. Torture and murder and intentional taking of life by humans is inherently wrong on many levels, and you can argue about this, but ultimately there is nothing wrong or bad about death in itself to a person that believes in God.
If you don't believe in the soul, then all of this is irrelevant. That said, your argument is irrelevant to someone who does believe in the soul. So ultimately, the only debate that is of any use in this discussion is whether or not the soul exists.

God is guarranteed to kill again. He would have been brought in for trial a long time ago if anybody was ever able to actually find him.
edit: elceball; There is nothing to state that they were of any age at all. Just that they were the oldest male child in each family. Even a 1 day old baby would have gotten killed if it was your first born son.

Death is the way to god. if god loves some one then he want to play, stay, talk with him. Its not possible on the earth. For that he called near him to do so. Its the love of god. When child born he cried because God sent him to the earth For a punishment purpose and for that every child cry. so death is a great thing.

I guess the choice was pharohs. I believe I saw on History Channel a program explaining how each of the plagues could have occurred and it had to do with where the child slept maybe. My memory is not what it was. At any rate...as I recall the story...the death was the last of the plagues.
So...how is this different from King Herod killing all the younger male children in Bethlehem because he wanted to make sure Jesus was dead?

God does not kill children! It is the devil putting obsticles in our way to see if he can turn us against God! God loves and forgives all. God is not a spitful God. If he would of only killed Pharaoh then what point would he had proved? He had to do what was right to save us. I am Christian. God gave the people who were with and believed in him the chance by having them put the blood above their door. They chose to let their children go!
