we are going to get married at the justice of the peace. i've already spoken to them about having guests and they said no problem. whats the maximum # of people we should invite? we know we can't have too many, the "ceremony" will only last about 10/15 minutes. but afterwards we would like to have guests meet us for lunch at a nice restauraunt. my honey and i will break away, go do our own thing the rest of the day. go have dinner, and then meet up with friends again at a dave and busters kind of thing to party. then i'm thinking we can rent a hotel for the night. this is the idea i have in mind for our wedding day. i would like to have as many people as i can without looking crazy! do you have different ideas in mind? we're trying to keep this casual, cheap, but fun. i don't mind paying for the dinner thing.....i just want more ideas...thanks for any help!!!

I think your ideas are great. You should check some local restaurants to see if they have a banquet hall you can use, there is usually no extra fee for this, then you could all have some privacy. I think as fas as guests to the wedding you should try to keep it small, maybe around 25 or 30 people. Congrats.

Sounds good, but maybe you should have something to keep your guests occupied while you and your husband do your own thing. I don't know. It just seems like a lot to ask people to show up for an early wedding and lunch, take a break, and then meet up with you again at night.

I went to a lunchtime wedding similar to yours, but we just went out for a big lunch afterwards...nothing later that night. Maybe have a big lunch thing for everyone you'd like to come to the wedding, and just go out at night with some close friends and family.

We did a JP marriage. We just invited his sister, and my cousin, and his sister brought her son and her friend. Then we went out for brunch. Invite all the other friends for partying. It's like a reception!
