As Talented as Blake is, I feel that he should NOT have been in the final 2. It should have been Melinda and Jordin. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!

She should have won, or at least had the chance to compete with Jordin in the final. Melinda and Jordin are the best two singers by far.

I'm pissed!! I agree with the people who say that American Idol is not a singing competition. I'm not gonna watch American Idol no more...and I voted, too. She'll be back though. Look at J. Hudson. She got booted way earlier than Melinda and got an Oscar. Expect great things from Melinda in the future.

I love Blake! But I prepared myself for his last show! Yeah I was planning on Melinda and Jordin to be in the finale but I'm happy! :)

Jordin is going to win. Melinda is GUARANTEED a contract so its not like she lost anything. This competition was whacked all the way around anyways.
Chris Daughtry didn't win AI, but he is TOP on every chart, has his own band with a CD out and he is SELLING OUT all his concerts.... so he is a PRIME example of NOT NEEDING AIs TITLE. HE's THE BEST ALL AROUND! YES!

well ithought it was gonna come down to Melinda and Blake. and i thought Melinda would lose. I think ameircan idol this year is about who is marketable. alot of young girls love Blake!! I can picture them starting him off overseas!! it has nothin to do with talent and i am pretty sure i w ont even watch anymore!!

I was of course SHOCK but well, she is far too good for AI. AI is a place for new and raw talent. She was a back-up singer before so I think itz better to lose and give others a chance. I mean, she is so good and I think she easily can get a record deal.
Unlike Blake, I think itz important for him to win the AI. He is something new, raw and talented. And AI is the place for him to brush up his talents. From here, he can use it as a stepping stone to move up and perhaps create a new genre of music with his super-cool beatboxing.
As for Jordin - she is typical. I don't reli like her. If she wins, itz just the same as another Kelly, Carrie or Fantasia.

Melinda was hands down the best singer in the contest I think. She should have won... BUT non-winners on Idol have become bigger than winners in some cases.. So, I look forward to hearing about her coming out with CD's, etc.. I think she'll do very well.
As for Blake, some of what he did was good... But I don't think that he will/should win.

I hope Blake wins because Jordin is just plain fake. The heart thing she does with her fingers up against her chest gets on my nerves. Go back and finish high school little girl.

I'm a little disappointed, but I know that her career will take off just fine. Look at all of the non-finalist that have done very well. Besides, she still has the Idol tours without having to deal with the pressures of being #1.
