Apologies...In a recent question I referred to the word "truthiness" but apparently many have not heard of the term...
...things that a person claims to know intuitively, instinctively, or "from the gut" without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or actual facts

It's a satirical term from Stephen Colbert.

First I have heard of truthiness and yet I recognize your definition as something I do. So, yes....though is it really faith? I hate words...they obscure meaning...

There's a problem with a part of your definition of the term "truthiness" when you say that it is "without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or actual facts". The "gut feeling" is often far more informed than one would assume. Intuition doesn't begin as a gut feeling; that's where it ends! It begins with the cumalative thoughts, experiences, and feelings we have. It begins with common sense, the moral conscience, and peices of wisdom gleaned throughout our lives, etc. Our minds assimilate all these things into what becomes our personal philosophy, our worldview, and even our personalities. That's not to say our intuition is always right. But what lies beneath a gut feeling isn't merely un-informed. It's quite often just the opposite!
note: it is clear to me that i've over-thought this entire freakin' subject after reading that it came from Colbert.

Are you asking this question in order to mock people and their beliefs? "Truthiness," apparently first created as part of a comedy routine, certainly has a negative connotation.
As such, I would say that no, my faith is not based on truthiness. My faith is based on all that truthiness is not--evidence, logic, intellectual examination, and actual facts.
Besides the important element of deep-down feeling (why not trust your heart), my faith is also based on dilligent study. I believe that feeling things in the heart, studying them out in the mind, and asking God to confirm their truthfulness is the key to finding truth and knowledge. We obtain truth by study and also by faith.

Now I know why I have never heard of the word truthines.
What you seem to think is inherent truths is not what many others would believe. You see they are not inherent at all. you learn them from the people around you by the things they say and the way they act.
Faith as a belief in a god or other Deity is taught and it is not inherited through the genes.
If what you profess were to be true hen there would be only one religion for us all.
My faith is in me and not in any other, real or imagined.

I think a better word would be innate, rather than truthiness.
But first you need to explain why you think innate "truths" are really "truths" at all.
Faith is the belief in something you can't see.
Innate is a quality you are born with.
So basically your saying I believe in something I can't see (physically or logically) and I know it because I've always known it?
How much more ridiculous can you get?

My faith is in THE truth.
Jesus said I am THE way THE truth and the life.
No other religious person even DARED to make such a claim. Jesus made it because He is God. Upon which everything gets it's reference and definition.

yes. i do believe there are truths that are as tangible as the physical. i don't know how science would classify it, but maybe energy is more complex than people think. it has been shown energy can hold patterns, outside the brain, that translate to different information, meanings. truth would lie somewhere in there.. to me.
