My sister is the same age as your girlfriend and her husband is the same age as you (8 year gap) and they get on very very well. They have been married for 7 years and have a daughter age 4 this summer and they are very happy and very close. At that age you are both sensible and matured. it's different when you are teenagers. If you love each other that's even better. Good luck.

My last relationship I was 39 he was 25 and it was great. You may be thinking, well its over, but that is not the point. We were both at a similar time in our lives and helped each other out. As a relationship should be, mutually beneficial! Our deciding to move on had nothing to do with age more we were just past what we required from each other.
I do think if you are asking it is a big deal, maybe bigger than you want to admit. This answer can only come from you not others.

Age is really just a number. Are you two compatible? If you do have an age gap like that, I would wait a while to move forward with marriage and kids if I were you.

Nope.
I'm 37, my wife is 29.

You might prefer a gap of 33 and 21 though!!

I don't think its too big at all. My mother and father have an age gap of 7 years and they are happy with their marriage. I think it could be worse. Like Tom Cruise and Katy Holmes, they have something like a 16 year difference. Now to me thats a big difference.

If she is the right one for you then not at all 8 years is nothing when you are 80 she'll be 88, doesn't sound that big a gap when you think of it like that does it.

Seriously no...it's just 8 years apart the guy I like is 33 and I'm 25 so maybe I'm biased in my way of thinking but I really don't think it matters.

If you are compatible and truly love the person age shouldn't matter.
I am 8 years older than my husband and we have been happily married for over 25 years. We never think about the age difference.

Nope. Once you reach 23/24 the age differences really don't matter anymore. You have enough experience in life that you can relate to her on all sorts of issues.
If you are big into partying or have had your parents paying for everything for your entire life, then I would say you are too young.

You are both adults. I think once you reach a certain age it's just a dumb number not something really important. I think as long as you two want similar things then it could definitely work. My grandfather's sister is 17 years older than her husband and they've had a long and an extremely happy life together. Good luck!
