It is really about what you can afford. Usually honeymoons are from 3 days up to a few weeks, depending on finances. So if you can afford 2 weeks then by all means do it so you and your husband can have more alone time. Besides there is so much to see in Hawaii and so many different islands to visit.

I think 1 1/2 weeks is a perfect length of time for a honeymoon. Make plans to have a day off before you leave to go to Hawaii and then to have 1 or 2 days off upon returning so that you can both have time to rest and reminisce after returning from your vacation. It is a lot easier to do it this way so you are less tired and have less vacation shock when you return!

Hawaii is a great place to go, that is where I went. You should go for as long as you can financially afford to. We went for a week, but I would have preferred a month or 2!

It depends on finances and how much time off you can take from work but it's such a long flight that two weeks minimum (including travel time) sounds about right. This gives you time to relax and see all the sights as well as enjoy your new spouse! You'd hate feeling rushed on your honeymoon.

We went to Hawaii (Oahu) for our honeymoon. We spent 6 days there....which wasn't nearly enough to do everything the island has to offer but we couldn't afford to take anymore time than that from work.

When we left we noted everything we didn't get to see and promised each other that we would come back on our 10th anniversary to have another honeymoon.

It gives us something to look forward to...

We went to Aruba for one week- it was perfect for us. You don't want to go for too short of a time, and regret not staying longer. But you also don't want to go for too long, and come home needing a vacation from one another.

By the way, the honeymoon is not over upon returning home!

We went on a week long cruise. I think a week long honeymoon is typical if you can afford it.

typically, 1 week, 10 days or 2 weeks... whatever the couple can afford finacially and also time away from work.

We went to the Riviera Maya in Mexico for 1 week and it was fabulous... it didn't feel too short.
