Remember ladies: If a guy is strait, over the age of ... say 14, and is nice to you, he wants to sleep with you!

Most men in "platonic" relationships do not make advances on their "friend" for moral and ethical reasons. But if they are honest with themselves, when given the right circumstances, the nature of the relationship would move beyond platonic.

The simple reason for this is that human males are driven by their hormones more than anything else. Most men can use reason to overcome this natural drive, but it is always there.

It is possible, but not likely. There are usually thoughts and hopes of a sexual nature with one or the other person. The only true platonic relationship would be with a girl and a gay. Almost every platonic relationship I have seen, I've predicted the guy was just waiting for an opportunity, posing as a friend. So far, I've been correct every time.

My son has girlfriends too, as another person said. He's good friends with them, but does hope to go out with them some day or hopes they like him more than a friend some day. Until then, he is content with friends.

Platonic relationships are not likely and very rare.

It is possible to have this type of platonic relationship, but with only a few rare exceptions you will always find that if you scratch the surface of the relationship, one person wants more out of it, so although it is possible,in one persons mind it is anything but platonic!

No, it is possible if its platonic at first. If you want a "platonic" girl-boy relationship to last IMO you have slept with and then talk to them and make them understand that it would never work as a long term relationship and see if they are cool with it.

it truly is conceivable, in simple terms no longer very likely. I do have female acquaintances that i don't have a romantic relationship with, yet when i became gonna be completely elementary, i do not imagine i might want to assert no to snoozing with one in each of them or have a relationship if the prospect presented itself. This sounds rather shallow, yet i imagine that in ninety 5% of situations, there can't be a real platonic relationship except they both experience the different individual is unattractive. of course, if you're rather close acquaintances with someone, you want their personality, and in case you hit upon them bodily captivating, it will be very demanding to no longer choose a relationship with them.

You know what! if you have to ask yourself this question, than I would say "No" it would not be possible for you to have a platonic relationship with the oppositate sex.

Absolutely! I've had the same male best friend for about 12 years. But the catch is that you have to have absolutely NO desire to have an intimate relationship with them. He was into me when we first met, but I wasn't. Lucky for me, he was nice enough to get to know me anyway, and we've become incredibly close. Most guys would have just moved on. So yeah, if there's no sexual tension or attraction, you can find wonderful friends in the opposite sex.

I believe its possible, not everything is life has to be physical, I have a brilliant friend, since the day we met we've never even kissed, but we've shared a bed and cuddled and we spend most of our time together just chatting and having fun, no romantic feelings and no sex. Its like having a baby brother and a best Friend at the same time.

If you go into the 'Search for questions' at the top left, you'll find many answers to this question which has been asked many times before.

Is it possible? 'Yes.'

It is possible for two people of the opposite gender to actually like / get along with each other without a 'sexual interest' growing between them.

It is a 'possibility.'

Sash.
