she is in dfcs custody they took her from her mom my husband and stepdaughter mom never married court says she has to live with relative why not with her dad they are going to do a dna test in 2 weeks for him to legitimate her

Most of the time .. the children say this for several reasons .. and the TOP Reason .. because they DO NOT WANT TO FOLLOW The Household RULES or respect the HOME of the caring parent at that time!!!!!
Sometimes .. it is because of abuse ... or criminal actions. Sometimes it is because they know that the parent does not want them in the home. (But all of these are not as high on the list of reasons why they would NOT want to be with a Responsible parent).

Allow the DNA test to take place this will confirm the childs identity. The way it works in our state is when one parent is deemed unfit, the child is relinquished to the other parent. In this case he should get custody of the child if he is the father. Be patient, this could be a tough situation all the way around if he hasn't seen his child in 12 years.

she needs a chance to get to know her dad, and she will live where the corts decide.
