No that would not be true worship. You are right, that is not faith at all, that would not work because the Father knows our every thought. It is no laughing matter, either you believe or you don't. It is that simple.
" But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with the gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience so that those who speak maliciously against your behavior in Christ be ashamed of their slander." 1 Peter 3:15-16

I think some do TRY.. but then again that isn't an insurance policy either... it's false faith... and no GOD or religion that I have ever read about accepts people that believe in more then one....
SO they are wasting their time really... running scared.. when they should educate themselves...
HIS people suffer from lack of knowledge.. that's what caused the fall in the first place.. .

If you believe the Bible, that would be a bad idea. Matthew 6:24 says, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other..." God wants your full devotion, so I think just worshipping Him to be safe wouldn't work out so well for you.

I think people who can't get over the whole monotheistic mindset might because they can't imagine life without it. Personally, I don't believe in heaven/hell, judgement, Christ, God (the Christian god at least), so I don't need to buy into the "Christian Insurance Policy."

Well, this question reminded me of Pascal's Challenge-
This is just for Christians, I guess...
A) You believe, and there is- you're right, and you're going to heaven.
B) You believe, and there's no after life, oh, well, at least you
tried.
C) You did not believe, there is no God or hell- you're right, and you cease to exist.
D) You did not believe, and there IS a heaven and hell- You're screwed, Buddy!
So, the mathematician and philosopher Pascal told us that we should believe, just to be safe!

I agree with you and yes I do think people do that. I mean yea it's better to be safe than sorry but if your heart isn't in it, it isn't going to do you any good in the long run.

I think "religious people" who are not spiritual do that. Just follow rules and regulations and put their time in at church. Yes I think that is more common than one would imagine.
