It isnt about which food is healthiest, its about portions. You need a variety of foods so that you dont get bored with your diet. You need a variety of nutrients which includes some fat and carbohydrates. sparkpeople.com is a great site for tracking your foods. It also has exercise programs on there. I hope this answers your question.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

anything that is not overly processed. You can tell which foods are overly processed at the grocery store because they'll come in boxes and they aren't actually real food, just something that someone made up... like potato chips, doritos, mac & cheese, hostess twinkies... if you want bread get whole wheat bread, white bread is processed to much.

The only aisles you should go down is produce, dairy, meat department, lunch meats, and the cheese, yogurt, and cottage cheese aisle... if you need cereal, eat the cereal that is on the top shelf.

Celery is the only NEGATIVE calorie food. It actually takes more calories to chew celery than the vegetable actually provides!
