Yes, I realize that, but if god didn't want me to be having sex, then why would I get my period whilst I'm not married?

Puberty is a biological fact something that everyone goes through, however adolescence is a social construct. In many cultures there is no such thing as adolescence, during puberty there is some rite of passage where children are transformed into adults. We consistently infantilize our younger generation. It has been established that one average females are getting their period a few years earlier than 50 years ago and people are a couple of inches taller than 50 years ago. Besides the whole story about abstinence and marriage was made up by the church so they could have a monopoly over people's lives and decisions. If you have to be married to have sex and sex is a strong drive then people will get married as soon as they can, this helps generate money for the church since they are the institution that can marry people.

Age of marriage is socially constructed. Age of onset menstruation is biologically determined. Eons ago before civilization, there were no marriage rites. When females reached puberty, they mated and reproduced. You live in a historical period where the socially constructed appropriate age for marriage is quite beyond the onset of the menses in most females. Think of it as a blessing. Most societies in today's world do not train us to be very successful at marriage even at 27. Some here would tell you to forget marriage and follow the natural urge. I think the better choice is to be patient a while, prepare and educate yourself for marriage and parenthood, then look for an appropriate partner.

Women NOT getting their periods later these days has nothing to do with God. Women are, in fact, getting their first periods at younger and younger ages because of environmental factors. This does not provide evidence for or against a creator.

But it is true that women did get married at earlier ages back in the day.

Getting your period doesn't mean your body is ready to bear children.
There are young women in Africa who are suffering right now from anal-vaginal fistulas because their little bodies were not ready to birth children...they got married too early.
Keep that in mind.
Also, the rules for actually having sex in a marriage were different back in the day...used to be you had to wait a year to even have sex AFTER marriage in old jewish custom.

Your period is strictly your body having the ability to become pregnant. It has nothing to do with mental readiness to be sexually active.
Who knows why the onset of puberty hasn't changed. There are still cultures where it is acceptable to be married at the age of 13/14. It's just not very acceptable in western culture. We prefer to put off adulthood until we are in our late teens and 20's.
Just remember... physically ready and mentally ready are two different things!

You are indeed correct this must have been too complicated for one as simple as myself IE. when I went first started changing and growing pubic hairs for some reason I did not think: Hey this is a sign from god for me to start bedding all these pretty young ladies around here - good god all the fun I missed out not knowing that our change of life was/is really gods way of saying TIME TO GET AFTER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

just because you have your period that does not mean you have to have sex. When I was a teenager, I wondered that too- however I chose to abstain and wait until marriage- I know that "sounds old-fashioned today" however God's word is truth, and saving myself for my husband was a choice I chose to make. Being able to bear children, does not make it right to have sex at such a young age. Sexuality is being developed in both boys and girls during their teen years, but just because a body can produce a child, why would you want to put yourself into a position to get pregnant so young? Purity is a choice. Choose it!!

What does getting your period have to do with abstinence vs. promiscuity?? Being fertile is a good reason to remain abstinent, so you won't be a mother at 14.

I do not think peeps are fully understanding what you are asking. It is a really good question, as an atheist I cannot really answer it, but I was hoping to see a christian or 2 struggle with it. :)
