Many, many of the cities and places of the bible have been found to be real (many still being discovered). Many, many of the people have been found to have been real; These people and places discovered testify of our God. HE IS REAL.

Qafart,
"Think about it... if Jesus was real and so well known, why is he not mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls?"
How dumb is THAT.
Little girl. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained OLD Testament books.

I don't mind free thinkers. I just like to ask questions that pertain to Christians sometimes. You have problem with that, Hitler?

I never saw evidence of seeing a sign that said "Welcome to Sodom" or saw legal documentation with anyone's name on it, such as a birth certificate. What I've seen is evidence of what may be Sodom by description in the bible and none of the names match what was in the original bible. Think about it... if Jesus was real and so well known, why is he not mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls? They were written at the time of Jesus and shortly after he died, unlike the bible that was written a 100 years, plus after he died. Also, they weren't just the bible, they were historical writings of the day. Why didn't they see fit to put such a famous man, making so much commotion in their history? Doesn't make sense to me. Seems like Paul transposed Jesus' name over Mithra's to make a name for himself.

As for your comments that this is just for Christians, goes to show, you don't want free thinking Christians. It may spoil the faith. For religion to be true, you have to allow your believers to think for themselves rather than follow blindly. Is there much satisfaction in knowing you have a bunch of followers who believe because they were told they had to rather than because they honestly believe?

Think about it little boy or little girl... whatever you are. To begin with, you are showing your imaturity by name calling. You obviously don't know as much as you want to believe you do. The Dead Sea Scrolls aren't just the Old Testament, they are also history records. Do research before you condemn. That's the problem with so many people today, they believe what they're told as fact without checking it out themselves.

Again, you are not doing your research. The Dead Sea Scrolls have been dated to as late as 65 AD. I do believe that is Post Jesus.

Getting flustered, aren't you? When did you study the Dead Sea Scrolls? You obviously don't know much about it. There is no information about Jesus, but some of it was written post Jesus, why wasn't he mentioned if he was so important?

This is not really a question, is it?

So you're saying that, because real people several thousand years ago state that God exists, then he must exist? Did you know that real people in real places also stated that the world was flat not too long ago? If you saw a guy on the street talking to God and saying he was the voice of God, would you believe him?

You mean there were cities 2,000-6,000 years ago? Gee, I thought these "city" things were a recent development.

According to your (bad) logic, if someone 3,000 years from now worships Spiderman as a supernatural deity and someone find ruins of New York (setting for Spiderman), then Spiderman is a god?

Besides, I thought it doesn't matter if we find evidence--all it takes is FAITH!

Yes, that's true. Noah's Ark was actually found somewhere in the mountains of Turkey. King Herod's tomb have been found this year on the Herodian mountain in Israel. I am wondering what happened to the tabernacle and its contents?

It is nice to hear that others are coming around to this way of thinking but there still are many that need help when they are called & that should be our goal, helping the new believers find their paths in the right direction, AMEN!

OMG... This seems like the very saddest of commentaries!
Can you even imagine those interested in science pronouncing similarly???

"Yes, it has been determined that Charles DARWIN WAS REAL! ... That the geological layers we see in the Earth ARE REAL! ... And Lo and Behold, DNA MUTATION RATES ARE REAL! ... Yes! The OLD EARTH and EVOLUTION ARE REAL!..."

(Well, sorry, JD - I rarely jump in, but this was just too much.)
