You have addressed this to the rude ones, but still I applaud your effort. I cannot answer directly as your question is written, since I am one of the ones trying to fight the rude and crude.

As to why they use such sarcasm and mockery, I suspect much of it is that they do not have any valid arguments for their point of view. All they have is the conviction that it is more sophisticated to mock and ridicule than it is to believe in anything, or even to be considerate of those who believe.

If we talk nice, we can learn a lot. But those who mock are not interested in learning. After all, that would require considering that they might be wrong, or at least that they do not have all the answers.

The world is full of people who are supposed to be "mature adults" and truly aren't. This is reality. However, it is also reality that some people will always try to make the world a nicer place and you seem to be one of them. I applaud your efforts and I hope many will join you. Just remember, if you let the rude and ignorant make you mad with just words, you won't have any energy left to fight the rude and ignorant actions. One nice thing about the internet is many people vent their anger here and that lets them be a little nicer in the real world.

My advice is to continue to ignore the rudeness here (after all it really doesn't need an answer) .

As you say, you are only 17. If you refuse to let "them" make you an angry person, think how much good and kindness and tolerance you yourself can spread by the time you are 20 ! Keep trying... you seem to be an excellent person and I hope you stay that way!

There are always going to be rude ppl, ALWAYS. Online ppl get more 'strength' in their annonymity too. Just give them a thumbsdown and move on. It's the only way. There are still a lot of ppl on here who are respectful, I do however think some ppl get frustrated on here and then lose control. :(

Sometimes being sarcastic is easier than typing the proper (often long) response that is required. Then there are the others who don't have a real response...

You cannot control the rest of the world. Sometimes it's possible and appropriate to hold people to certain standards, but much of the time it can't be done. Best to concentrate on holding yourself to your own high standards and hope that some will learn by example how people should treat one another.

It's an outlet. Most of the people here say stuff they know they can't get away with in there workplace or schools.

Are you aware that people's attitudes change as the mature? Right now, because you're a teenage girl you judge people by how "nice" they are. Trust me, it's a phase you're going through. When you're a mature adult, you'll have your very own opinions and will be just as mean-spirited as the rest of us grown-ups.

The only authority we have to accept is the great God Yahoo. If they have no problems with things, then why should anyone else.
