Everytime I buy a new vehicle it's a minivan. I'm tired of them and I am going to buy a new SUV. I need at least 6 passenger seating, and I want the 3rd row to actually be comfortable. Not tiny. Pros and cons of different ones? How they drive and things like that. I have looked at so many, but I would like opinions from people who actually own them, not the sales people who want to sell me one. And while we're at it, why do they assume I am going to buy right now today!!? Anywho, just looking for why you like or dislike yours. Thanks!

I checked out the Mercedes and Volvo, don't like em. I am liking the Pacifica and also considering the Lexus. The Mazda CX9 looks pretty cool, but not so much comfortable in the rear.

I do need seating for 6 and sometimes more. I have 4 kids, 3 of them are teenagers and 1 is still in a carseat. Trust me, I would love to buy a car, but I simply can't. I got the kids and kids friends etc etc. lol!

If you want a third row that is actually comfortable, then you are going to be looking at the really big SUVs like the Suburban, Excursion etc. I would say to check out the Expedition, it might be what you are looking for. In my experience, the imports do not take comfort in mind for even the second row, so if you are looking for and econo-job or something smaller, you will need to alter your criteria. good luck, and go test drive every one out there; don't let the salesman make you feel like you owe them anything, because you don't!

Don't do it!

OK, do you really NEED seating for 6 passengers?

The reason I ask is that buying a large SUV right now, with gas prices headed nowhere but up, is not a good idea if you don't actually NEED it.

Of course they want you to buy right now! They want a sale. They get paid on commission. Plus they know if you walk out that door, their chance of making a sale is very low. People rarely come back.

If you want stress free car shopping, go to the dealer lot after they close. They are always brightly lit. Just take a look around and see what you like, check prices, etc. Check out Edmunds.com for car info also. Once you've narrowed it down to 2 or 3 models, then go for test drives and let the salesman try and sell to you.

My fiancee and I both have Honda Pilots (his is a 2006, mine is a 2007) and we love them. It's an 8 seater (although when the back row of seating is up, there is hardly any trunk space left). If you only need 6 seats at one time, you can put part of the third row up and leave the other part down, increasing your trunk/cargo space. The ride is very smooth, it's a very comfortable car, and we are very happy with it.

Unless you're hauling 6 people around everyday, don't buy an SUV. Get a stationwagon instead. Check out the Volvo, Audi or Mercedes wagons.

I'm sorry, but the Honda Pilot is one of the worst looking vehicles on the road, bad answer.

Consumer reports is going to be your best source. 2 issues back (I don't have it with me so I can't recall exactly) they had reviews on all 2007 model vehicles.

If you don't know someone who subscribes you might check your local library.
