You don't bread them at all. But if you boil them for a while before you fry them, they usually turn out pretty good. Just cut them in thin slices in your skillet, add some vegetable oil, and cover them, except when your flipping them. Cook till golden and crispy.

I don't bread them. What I do is coarsely chop a few slices of bacon up, toss it in with some diced onion and carmelize. Then add your potatoes and spices. The bacon gives them an incredible flavor.

I still make the same pie crust and cookie recipe that my grandmother used to make. It is a treat to give my kids cookies that I had when I was their age.
I haven't heard of breading them before but maybe you are onto something? I just use olive oil and butter. good luck!

I've never heard of breading them. And my German grandma never did either. Just fry them in butter. Don't mess with them though, that's important. Wait until they're browned before turning.

Make sure they are par boiled before. Do not bread them but fry them in butter because they brown better using real butter.

i boil the spuds first....cool....dice and fry in a little bacon grease and onion.
