ok, i've heard this several times now from muslims. apparently they believe jerry falwell converted to islam on his death bed...nevermind that he died suddenly in his office and i'm sure didn't have time to covert before death even if he wanted to. Now, i didn't agree with everything jerry falwell said, but i think he was a decent man that got a lot of people upset because he wasn't afraid to say what he believed. Everyone has a right to different beliefs, and thinking different doesn't make someone stupid, ignorant, racist, homophobic, a nazi, or a muslim. So, what is up with all the rumors, lies and hatred for him? I saw one girl on here post that he was "human" because he got caught with a hooker. when the heck did that happen? perhaps she got her scandals mixed up. i also think the racist allegation is unfair. yes, he was for segregation...as were practically all white people in the south. isn't admitting you were wrong and changing a sign of strength rather than weakness?

Utter silliness. I am not Jerry Falwell's biggest fan either, and have not researched what he has said about Islam....but I would virtually guarantee that Falwell had nothing but contempt for Islam (regardless of his possible pc speak on the subject).

It seems many lies come from the House of Mohammed, and they are not even afraid to throw us their most blatantly obvious tall tales.

"Thinking differently doesn't make someone stupid, ignorant, racist, homophobic, a Nazi or a Muslim."

You're right, thinking differently doesn't make anyone anything. However, stupid is as stupid does. Falwell's thinking and actions were homophobic so that means Falwell was homophobic. It also makes him ignorant on issues concerning homosexuality. Also, if he's for segregation then he is in favor of policy based on race. That makes him racist regardless of whether or not his views were historically conventional. Everybody doing something a certain way may explain it, but it doesn't make it any less evil.

Don't try to make him out as some intellectual individualist, as if he's some pioneer for free thought or something. He certainly wasn't a victim either. On the contrary. He went out of his way to make the lives of many (not all mind you) other people with whom he didn't agree miserable.

Remember the Moral "Majority"? Falwell played a direct part of this despicable co-mingling of religion and politics. He was also in favor of teaching religion in public schools. For that I consider him a pig.

As long as we're clearing up rumors and allegations here, let's not forget that Falwell wasn't a doctor of any sort.

Rotflol, I seriously doubt that Falwell converted on his death bed. Most all death bed conversion tales are nothing but urban legends.

I disagree with you, he wasn't a decent man. The reason people call him racist, homophobic, etc... is because he WAS!

You know how it is, do something wrong and the world knows about it in five seconds, do something good and only you know. Some people always want to bring others down, I guess it makes them feel better about their own loser lives.

Words to live by.

Almost everything you hear isn't true.

Half of everything you see with your own eyes isn't the whole story.

Yet there is always a small amount of truth in every rumor.

Think about that one for a while.

The fact that it only came out after he died lets me know creeps are about trying to disgrace his name.
