was it love or infatuation?

5 year ago, I met with a boy while chatting. we became friends and started sending email to each other. after one year he proposed me. he said that he loves me. in the starting I was not interested but he kept on insisting me . then I felt that even I love him and I accepted his proposal of marriage

we never met because we were very far from each other. both of us have seen the photo of each other. we used to phone eachother
after some months he said that it was joke and everything is over and he loves someone else

it was difficult to handle for me. I cried a lot. I fell sick and it affected my studies. it took two year to forget him but somtimes I still dont feel ok
I want to know that it was my love. I never met him. should i consider it as my first love or my first stupid infatuation

Not sure why you two never met before. I'm kinda thinking maybe your not the only person that he could have been talking to or he met someone in the time that you were talking. If i was you i wouldn't look for love and wouldn't consider this and your first love more like a taste of feelings and a first lesson. We all learn the hard way in love. I would chalk it up as wisdom, dust off your heart and keep going. He doesn't deserve the hurt you let him give you.

i would say that that was just stupid infatuation. you can't love someone you never met especially through the internet you don't even know if thats what the guy really looked like and how do you really know anything about him? you don't!! there's no way to know so no that wasn't love at all you were just infatuated by the fact of him saying all that stuff to you. believe me when you have to ask am i in love then no its not love sweetie. you'll know when you meet that person and don't try and go meeting eachother on the internet again bad idea!!

it was infatuation when a man proposes to a woman it is not done over the phone or the internet that should of been your first clue.another thing you were not engage because there was no ring involved.im sorry that he broke you heart you will find someone better..in order to love someone you have to meet them hang out ect.also know them for a while.

um well you never met him , maybe he could have been playing you the whole time or maybe he was serious and you did fall in love, that's kind of mest up.. you guys should of met up, specially cause you were in love, so if yall was really in love wouldn't you have wanted to meet him or him meet you, maybe it wasn't love, i mean if you guys were engaged you would want to meet, when will you would have wanted to meet on your wedding day????? i don't himk you should consider that love.. but only you can answer that, how did you feel??????

you never met him, so maybe it was just the idea of him you thought you loved. the idea of someone proprosing to you made you happy. the thought of someone you never met loving you, made you flustered and excited. thats absolutely normal, and it hurt..alot..when he told you it was all a "joke"
how an someone be so cruel you know?
keep strong though and soon you'll find a man who deserves and appreciates you more than anything.
