Will I still receive child care assistance if I move in with my son's father?

Unfortunately, because you have a child with him, if you move in with him the state is going to include his income as well. They will combine your income with his income, and if the total of both your incomes exceeds the income limit for child care assistance ($2,647 for a family size of 3), you will not be eligible anymore. However, if both your incomes combined are under that amount, you will still be eligible but expect your co-payments to go up.

This probably isn't good advice but you might want to consider the phrase "what they don't know won't hurt them", if you know what I mean. ;-) In my opinion, the state programs (food stamps, childcare assistance, W-2, medicaid, etc.) only help the poorest of the poor, and for the people who aren't quite poor but definitely not rich by any means who also are in need of assistance, are the ones who get crapped on.

Good luck. I hope it all works out for ya!

It's all based on total household income. Here is a great place to check and see if you're eligible for programs. If it's close make an appointment and apply anyway. These arent 100% accurate.
