The question is,is there a moral or ethical authority better than God,Has man improved on any of Gods teachings.

the first commandment COMMANDS us that there is one and only one God......experts please show me a better god,why is that god better

Do not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain..well thats real hard..

third commandment tells us to take a day off and to be good,,,,again wheres the problem with that.

4th tells us to honour our parents...of course athiests tell us God is evil and vengeful

5th says dont kill people...has modern educated man improved this, well i guess if its an unborn baby its disposable because enlightened humanist man tells us babies in the womb arent people yet.

6th.well a solemn promise is a solemn promise

7th.dont take what do belong to you..go one better if you can brainy people

8th.dont lie...again whats the weasel.

9th.jealosys bad anyway

10th,jealosy again

Are we free to determine what is good and evil?

By our own right as sinners, we often live in denial about our sins. So how do we live as Chirst when we're drownding in our own filth of sin? Bible says we need Christ. Christ gave us "Moral authority" when he gave the keys to heaven to Peter. Moral authority is a professional who is educated & studied in moral issues, history, and culture. We turn to these people to lead us, spiritually cure us, and remind us of how these laws pertain to the 21st Century.

Where in the above specific commandments does it talk "Word -for - Word" about "Cloning", "Nuclear Energy", or "Internet Pornography"? Moral authority is the one who has read history, studied it's strenghts & weaknesses, and then forcasts how new enlightenments can be used for good or evil ... catogorizing these issues into the above 10 commandments. Further, the RC has the "Cardinal Of Bishops" which is kinda like the USA Senete ... so when making the Moral guidances ... well, it's hard enough to get the USA Senate to agree let alone Bishops from different countries, languages, and cultures ... ah, but when they agree, there is bliss.

Are we "Above" God? NO ... but we are lead by God through the Holy Spirit, especially within the "Cardinal of Bishops."

The Ten Commandments were taken from the 42 Confession and Denial of Egypt. They didn't have a problem with any of it either.
Morality was not invent for Christianity. They adopted it from other religions because it made sense.

America's founding fathers seemed to think that they could improve only on the first one, which was to allow people the freedom to believe whatever they wished unmolested. I think this is an improvement over the religious warfare that had led to the deaths of so many in Europe.

Nope, which is why those principles were around way, way before the 10 commandments were.

Morality does not rest with the Judeo/Christian faith. Morality evolved, just like everything else.

God wrote nothing.

Ancient writings of the Holy books by humans r considered as commands.

Human mind is imperfect to perceive truth. When it perceives truth it refuse to write.
