The spirit of Jesus Christ the Comforter lives in me.
Even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him.
But I know him for he dwells with me, and is in me.

Religion doesn't bring comfort.
A relationship with the Creator of the universe brings peace. It's a peace that is stemmed from the knowledge that there is something greater than yourself, and that the world is not randomly spinning out of control.

It only brings comfort to some, it torments others.
I always think of religion as politics and structure, and of Faith and Spirituality as being more of an interpersonal relationship with something larger than ourselves.
Religion attaches itself to a name some call God and a set of books.
Spirituality can be with or without that structure.

Religion is not just comfort, its a way of life. It is like a guide on how to live: what you ought to do and what you ought not to do. Anyway, maybe religion is a comfort because we always need something to believe in especially in the not-so-good moments of our life. It is something we can hold on to and sometimes it is even something we can find purpose in.

Religion is the essence of belief. It is the rising sun and moring star. Its the shadow that follows you when there is no one else. Its not just a feeling. Its a moment you have when you know you are safe. Where you know that someone is watching you from above.
Many things go wrong in this life. Many things happen to test your faith.
The comfort is me knowing that in troubled times i have God. I have his help.
He always has time for me
-Peace upon u

I love this answer 'if we don't live again life has no purpose'. Just how many times do you want to live before your miserable life DOES have a purpose. Guess what you only get one. Blubbing about fantasy island is merely ruining any chance you have of making the most of what you have now.

Knowing that God loves me, made me....knew me before I was born, gives me comfort. He designed ME, He knows me and loves me no matter what!!
I take comfort in the fact that Jesus selflessly died on the cross for me...to erase my sins if only I believe in Him. I know I have an eternal home with complete joy and love waiting for me when it is my time.
Until then, it gives me comfort and joy to serve Him in any way I can. God is awesome!!!!

Everyone is here to create comfort for others. If one doesnot, one doesnot get spiritually uplifted.
Religions r there to provide that platform.
