I'm actually surprised to see this question come from you.
This is like asking the question "How many animals did Moses take on the Ark with him?" (answer: none. Noah was on the ark not Moses)
They found them in the water, so they wouldn't have been placed on an ark. They would've died out of the water.

In my opinion there actually are parts of the Bible which are mythology. But unlike Shaker, I believe that you should know how to distinguish between this and the parts which are history, like the life of Jesus. I wish people would read the Bible more intelligently, bearing in mind that it was written thousands of years ago over a period of 1 600 years, by people from all walks of life. You can't possibly just take it all literally!

Did you even read the headline to the article you posted?
Marine species suggest Antarctic "cradle of life"
In case you didn't know, "Marine species" would mean these animals live in the water.
EDIT:
Geez, not only did you make yourself look a bit dim, but you managed to make idiots out of all these folks who blindly agreed with you without even looking at your article.
Nice job, Sport!!

They evolved. I believe in both theories. Noah gathered all the big animals (lions, tigers & bears, oh my) but obviously, their were & are still organisms living in the water which evolved into what they are today. I mean, did he really need to get two fish to save from the flood? What can live in the water, he left in the water & you can't gather organisms in the way that Noah gathered animals.

New species that were newly created or was it just the fact that we've never gotten around to doing enough research in that area and never saw them until now?

According to literal christians, yes they were all on the ark with the dinosaurs and the other 1.8 million species currently being catalogued on the internet (forgot the site). According to christians who know the ark story is mumbo jumbo, no. They weren't on any mythological ark.
