don't know what they are talking about

I think I have vented about this before. Its obvious that the people asking the questions aren't the brightest apples in the barrel and when they give false information and state they are vet techs and vets it infuriates me. I have continuously complained that they are going to cost someone their pets life.

Somehow because some one has had (A) dog their whole 20 years of life they think they know. Worse is the asker actually chooses it as a correct answer?? I can't stand the "take it to a vet" answer either. I do understand that some people may not be able to get into the vet asap and many things really aren't as much of an emergency as some of these people let on.

Oh I could go on forever. I feel so disheartened when so many of us are here telling people not to breed and some other questionable "breeder" gives them the answers to help them create more problems. Everyone is always on Get em (I don't know what his name is this week) but his answers just don't pussyfoot around. Then others say we are mean on here because its online and not face to face. Oh Im here to tell you most of these dillholes don't want to be face to face with me. The ones asking and some answering.

I do try sometimes to answer as short as possible but sometime the questions just hit me the wrong way at the wrong time and ....

I agree with just about everyone where who is fed up with the answers that can cause real harm to someones dog or puppy. It is very disheartening to read some of the answers given.
I too am fed up with these so called vets and vet techs here. As a matter of fact I've turned them in and will continue to do so. But I see them back still using the same old crap in the source box.
I love being here and answering questions that I have knowledge about if I don't know then I don't answer or I will try to find out for the person or even e-mail a person more knowledgeable than I on a certain subject or breed of dog. I also learn a great deal from those who are very knowledgeable in their breeds of choice. Now I know Golden's but that doesn't mean that I know about every breed of dog out there. Sigh!!!!
I will continue to do the very best I can and to help those who need some guidance because that is all I can do and hope that they will see and learn for themselves who is who and what is what here. I Just feel so badly for the person asking a question and then I see so many awful answers. I just shake my head and hope that the person asking has a brain to weed them all out and see what is the very best for their dog.

Because people like a say so , even when they don't have anything to add or have any idea what they are talking about. The people that scares me the most are these vets and vet tech, rescuer that they have in here and people taking things at their world. Now that is scary.

I have seen people give the best answer to a question that could have done some harm to their pets , but it suited them so they pick it as best answer.

It is up to you, as an owner of a dog , to know whether these answers or question for that matter are for real.

You will also notice people would answer a stupid question before they will answer a smart one. Take a look how many answers someone gets over a stupid question compare to a smart one.

There are people who will ask a breeder question and right away everyone jumps on them. Half of those people, I bet , don't even own a dog. And when you try to help them all you get is thumbs down. People are afraid to ask question anymore because of people jumping on them about something.

It just not only the answer it is also the questions. People just need to be heard even if it is stupid. Some look at the net real quick and copy and paste their answers. For that they get a thumbs up.. give someone an answer over the experience someone went through and they get a thumbs down.

It is up to you to weed them out.

And I really feel the thumbs up and thumbs down shouldn't be taken out of here.

I like the answers that state that they are "Vets"... most REAL Veterinarians wouldn't have the time to sit on Answers... I have to say I have heard that there were a few but it alarms me when I see that its a Vet.... hmmmmmm and they are usually stupid answers... I am totally with you!!! I really am a retired vet tech. I had to quit for personal reasons but I do have over 10 years experience being a tech and it puts us real techs down when people lie and say they are techs...so very sad and soooo deceiving.... kinda just wrong!!! I do have to say that some of the best answers I have read were from some of the breeders!! smile
Dobiegang and Goldengals answers have always been really on the $$...keep up the good work its nice to see informed people on here!!!!!...

I think a lot of the time these people are young kids who either honestly think they do have the correct information, or just throw an answer out in the hopes that they get picked.

Some people, however, are just supremely ignorant.

Either way, I don't think they know they have the incorrect answer, I think many times they REALLY believe that what they have answered is true. (And isn't THAT terrifying?)

On the other hand, just last night I gave a completely incorrect answer to a dog question because I figured if the person continued beliving the incorrect information, she'd do the right thing.. and continuing to believe it wouldn't harm her dog in the least.

A lot of people think they know what they are talking about, but don't. Some people just want points (but we don't get anything for them...so I don't understand that either). I will admit that it can be annoying, but people who come here for answers to questions can't really expect a truly knowledgable answer, because anyone can answer any question. A prerequisite for answering a question isn't knowing what you are talking about on here.

because its good to get several opions about things and really the only way to know about dogs to me is to ask either a vet a trainer or a breeder ask those people first i think

I think we need to be careful about the questions we ask on here.....for example...no one but a vet should be passing out info on medicating dogs. what has worked for one may not work for another.

Oh shut up! I hate people that have no knowledge of what they are saying and end up making fools of themselves. They don't know what they are talking about either.
