I have been at this job about three months and recently some other employees who have been here longer decided to voice some concerns to the CEO. It's a small office of about nine people. Apparently, the CEO's attitude is that if we don't like the way things are, he will just fire all of us and hire new employees.

It's a start-up company that I could tell in my first month is probably going nowhere. I am actually planning on leaving this job at the end of September to be a stay at home mom.

I am just wondering what is a good strategy for me to be able to stay here for the next four and a half months? Just keep my mouth shut and do my work? I am also assuming that I should not give them any more than two weeks notice, in case they just ask me to leave.

Oh, I should say that most of the time, they are fairly decent to me and do pay me a decent salary. There are some days they can be a bit unreasonable, I can bear it for a few months though.

Do not get involve in the politic lingos, if you were hired to do your work, do it. Do not jump the gun.

In my opinion do your 4 1/2 months continue doing your work and when the time comes give your 2 weeks notice.

I hope this helps.

If you're planning on leaving anyway in a few months, I'd say keep a low profile so you stay employed unless the company goes under in that time.

And no, I wouldn't give more than two weeks notice. And I'd keep real quiet about my plans with other employees, so word doesn't start getting around.

Good luck.

if they are nice to you....stay until you ive the two week ntice...if they let you go before..just be prepared....It might happen, but don't worry about it....know that you were professional and kind and what they do in return reflects on them, not you. Aboutthe CEO saying fire the workers...well....it is a start up company and they probablycan nnot afford to please eveyone, so the best thing is to fire them....then they can get new people who are ok with their rules. Sounds man I know....but it is after at a buisiness not a friendship. If they are not nice to you...don't be too swwet to them. The two week notice is not a law....just a kind thing to do and I think you should....to show respect.Good luck and have fun being a stay at home mom....Im sure your kids will be happy.

If you only want 4 1/2 months out of the job, then just keep quiet and wait it out.... unless it gets completely untollerable.

Give 'em two weeks. That's customary. If they ask you to leave when you turn in your notice, they have to pay you for those two weeks.

Put a smile on your face and keep going its like this everywhere anyway, but you dont always get paid well. So if I were you I would just keep to myself and do my job and be happy or atleast pretend to be.

"The beatings shall continue until morale improves."

In your career, you just have to ask yourself constantly if you enjoy what you do and you enjoy the people around you.

Doing something that you like to do and for which your efforts are appreciated is MUCH better than being miserable.
